Other objects and advantages will be apparent and suggest themselves as the nature of the invention is understood.
While the drawings illustrate an embodiment of the invention, it is to be understood that in adapting the same to meet difi'erent conditions and requirements,various changes in the form, proportion and minor details of construction may be resorted to without departing from the nature of the inventlom Referringto the accompanying drawings forming a part of the specification,
Figure 1 is a perspective view of the holder, V
'. Fig. 2 is a perspective view of the cl1p Fig. 3 is a perspective view of the receiver member,

clip and the; receiver showing more clearly the relation of the spring retainer.
Corresponding and llke parts are referred to in the following description and designated in the several views of the drawings by like reference characters.
The device comprises essentially two parts or members each being formed of sheet metal of proper gage and temper.' The members or parts, after being cut or stamped from the sheet metal are bent to the required shape substantially as shown in the accompanying drawings.
The clip comprises a base plate 1 and a hook 2, and is formed from an elongated blank folded upon itself. The hook 2 has a portion cut therefrom for lightness and to give added resiliency. Slits or cuts 3 are formed in opposite edge portions of the plate 1 to provide for connecting the two parts or members in a manner presently to y be described. Spring retainers 4 are partly cut from the plate 1 and pressed outwardly to coact with the receivers for holding the pencils or analogous articles in position against casual displacement.
The receiver member comprises a plate crimped, corrugated or fluted, as indicated at 5, which coacts with the plate 1 to provide receivers for holding the. pencil, pen or other article. The ends of the plate are formed with extensions 6 which are adapted to pass through the slits or cuts 3 and secure the two members or parts, when assembled, by being bent or clenched against the rear side of said plate 1. The upper or entrance ends of the receivers 5 are flared,-
as indicated at 7 to facilitate the entrance of pencils and like articles therein. The spring retainers 4 and receivers 5 are in coincident position, whereby to provide a retainer for each of the receivers-to hold the articles therein against casual displacement.
The parts comprising the holder are separately formed and when brofight together the extensions .6 of the receiver member;
ing or clenching the extensions 6 against the rear side of the plate 1.
l/Vhat is claimed 1s: A pocket pencil holder comprising a clip including a plate having slits adjacent its opposite edge portions and having spring retainers forming a part thereof, and a receiver member comprising .a' fluted or crimped plate and having terminal extenoreen sions to pass through the said slits and clenchedagainst the rear side of the clip plate, the receiving ends of the crimped or 15 flutes being outwardly flared to facilitate the entrance of articles therein.
In testimony whereof I aflix my signature in presence of two witnesses.
