To all whom t may concern:
Be it known that I, `WILL1E E. PosEY, citizen of the United States of America, residing at Waco, in the county of McLennan and State of Texas, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Granary Insecticide Devices, of which the following is a specification.
rIhis invention relates to new and useful improvements in granary insecticide devices.
The object of the invention is to provide means for introducingY an insecticide at different elevations or levels in granaries or other grain storage structure.
A further object is to provide means for introducing a liquid insecticide at the top of the granary and supplying receptacles at different elevation, whereby the fumes are liberated without the fluid coming into contact with the grain.
A construction designed to carry out the invention will be hereinafter described together with other features of the invention.
The invention will be more readily understood from a reading of the following speci- {ication and by reference to the accompanying drawings, in which an example of the invention is shown, and wherein:
Fig. 1 is an elevation of a device constructed in accordance with my invention,
Fig. 2 is a longitudinal vertical sectional view of the same,
Fig. 3 is an enlarged vertical sectional view of one of the cups,
Fig. 4 is a cross-sectional view on the line 4-4 of Fig. 3, and
Fig. 5 is a cross-sectional view on the line 5-5 of Fig. 3.
In the drawings the numeral 10 designates an axial vertical pipe extending from a receptacle 11, adapted to rest on the bottom of the granary and a drain pipe 12 leads from the receptacle and may extend through the side of the granary. A cap 13 having an enlarged overhanging apron 14 rests on the receptacle which has perforations 15 within the apron.
The pipe extends to the top of the granary and is closed by a cap 16. The pipe is made in sections and these are united by a coupling 17 screwed on the upper end of the under section. On each section is mounted a cylindrical cup 18 having a tubular supporting shank 19 vresting in the enlarged end of the underlying coupling. A sleeve 2O is fitted snugly between the pipe and the shank.
Each cup has an annular cover 21 provided with a depending apron 22 surrounding perforations 23 in the upper ends of the cups. Below the perforations each cup has a nozzle 24, while in the pipe just below each nozzle is arranged a plug 25 so that the liquid passing down the pipe will be arranged by the plug and diverted through the nozzle. .I ust above the sleeve each pipe has a port 26. A. nozzle 27 is provided in the lpipe 10 within the receptacle 11.
In using the device the cap 16 is removed and the insecticide poured into the pipe 10 from which it passes out through the highest nozzle 24 and lills the Ahighest cup to its port 26. The liquid passing out through the `port iows down the pipe to the next nozzle and fills the next cup to its overio-w port 26. The cups are filled and the receptacle 11 catches the overflow. The fumes escape through the perforations 15 and 23 and thoroughly permeate the grain. The aprons being spaced from the perforations hold o' the grain and permit the fumes to pass out freely.
Various changes in the structure and locations of the different parts as well as modifications and alterations may be made within the scope of the appended claims.
What I claim, is:
1. In an insecticide device of the character described, an axial supporting conductor, cups supported on the conductor at different elevations, an inlet from the conductor in each cup, an outlet from each cup connected with the inlet of the cup, and perforations in each cup.
