To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, Josnrrr THOMAS, a citizen of the United States of America, and a resident of Aberdeen, in the county of Grays Harbor and State of Washington, have invented a new and Improved Scrubbing Device, of which the following is a description.

My invention relates to a scrubbing device to be worn 011 the hand in the form of a glove or mitten.

The general object of my invention is to provide an effective scrubbing device of the indicated character and having distinctive and meritorious features adapting it particularly for efficient service.

Reference is to be had to the accompanying drawings forming a part of this specification, it being understood that the drawings are merely illustrative of a practical example of the invention.

Figure 1 is a front view of a scrubbing device embodying my invention having the general form of a glove;

Figure 2 is a front view of the device shown in Figure 1;

Figures 3 and 41 are sections respectively on the lines 33 and 4-4, Figure 2;

In forming a scrubbing device in accordance with my invention, the same is formed with a front 115, said device having an open back. The front is formedwith a flange directed toward the back and following the shape of the fingers after the manner of a glove. The flange 117 at opposite sides of the wrist portion of the device is connected by an elastic strap 21 and similarly elastic straps 22 connect the flanges at opposite sides of the fingers and thumbs at the bases Serial N0. 593,853.

of said fingers and thumbs. Also, additional elastic strips extend across the back of each finger between the flange 117 at opposite sides suitably fastened. The straps 21, 22 and 23 serve to hold the glove on the hand of the user, the back of the glove being open.

1 would explain here that the provision of the flange 117 directed rearwardly to the back of the hand affords effective connection for the straps 21, 22 and 23, while at the same time said flanges offer no discomfort to the wearer of the article.

I would state in conclusion that while the illustrated examples constitute practical and stitched or otherwise embodiments of my invention, 1 do not limit myself strictly to the exact details herein illustrated, since, manifestly, the same can be considerably varied without departure from the spirit of the invention as defined in the appended claim.

Having thus described my invention, I claim A scrubbing device comprising a body having finger and thumb portions corresponding to the hand, the edges of the body and finger and thumb portions being curled back to provide a pocket to receive the hand, and transverse elastic straps connecting the curled back edge portions and retaining said edge portions in their curled positions, said elastic strips being disposed at the bases of the thumb and finger portions and also near the forward ends thereof.
