E. PEPPER RIBBON CASE Filed Feb. 1411925 f Summa Patented Feb. 26, i924.
EARL PEPPER, OF LA MKIN, MISSISSIPPI.
RIBBON CASE.
Application filed February 14, 1923.
To all whom it may concern.'
Be it known that I, EARL PEPPER, citizen oit the United States, residing at Lamkin, in the county of Humphreys and State of Miss sissippi, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Ribbon Cases; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full,
clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art 3.0 to which it appertains to make and use the same.
This invention relates to a display and handling device for ribbon and the like.
The object of the present invention is to provide a device of the character indicated adapted to eiiicently display ribbon and like articles wound upon spools and customarily sold at retail in less than spool quantities in an efficient manner which will permity the easy inspection of the goods and their i'eady removal in any desired quantity, while at the same time preventing damage to the goods from dust or from unwinding of the spools.
Further objects will more clearly appear in the course of the following detailed description:
The invention consists of the novel construction, arrangement and combination of parts as hereinafter more particularly described and claimed.
One sheet of drawings accompanies this specification as part thereof in which like reference characters indicate similar parts throughout.
Figure l is a vertical transverse sectional view.
Fig. 2 is a vertical sectional view.
Fig. 3 is a horizontal sectional view taken on line 3-3 of Fig. 2.
In accordance with my present invention, I provide a case l, preferably provided with oppositely disposed doors 2 2, each having glass panels 14. The case is also preferably provided with glass panels 15 in each of the sides so that thecontents of the case may be well lighted and available for easy inspection from all sides.
l/Vithin the case is provided a vertical 00 partition adjacent one of the doors 2, this partition comprising a plurality of spaced horizontally extending panels 3. vSecured upon the back of each, or any desirable numbei' of the panels 3 are horizontally extendi in the desired lengths as called for.

end shaped to slide within and be securedby Y guide strips a, so that said arms extend horizontally and are adjustable in a horizontal plane relative to each other. To secure more accurate alignment ot the arms 5 they are preferably provided Vwith aligned hose which are adapted to receive a supplementary guide rod 7. Adjacent the outer ends of each of the supporting arms 5, transverse pivots 6 are provided having pointed ends, The pivots t'or the arms at each end of the case extend only inwardly while the pivots for the intermediate arms extend entirely through each supporting arm so as to provide pivots on each face. n
Un each of the panels 3, and beneath the guide members a is provided a second guide member 8 on which are slidably mounted a plurality of resilient arms l0, which are adried by supporting arms 5 which may bey readily adjusted to accommodate any width of spools and a variable number on each panel according` to the size of the spools. he ribbon 13 from each spool is fed forwardly through ythe 'spaces between panels 3, and can be drawn from spools and cut1` on' he resilient arms 10 are similarly adjusted horizontally so as to be positioned beneath and in contact with the spools to exert a slight pressure thereon and prevent the loosening or unrolling of the ribbon therefrom eX- cept as it may be removed in the manner intended and above described.
Various moditications in the constructiony spaced panels, a plurality of horizontally adjustable pvot-bearing arms mount-ed on each panel and a plurality of horizontally adjustable tension devices mounted on each panel.
2. In a device of the character described, a case having oppositely disposed doors and glass panels, a vertical partition parallel with the doors and comprising a plurality of vertically spaced panels, a plurality of pivot supporting arms horizontally aligned and adjustable on each panel, and a plurality of resilient arms horizontally aligned and adjustable in spaced relation with said pivot arms.
3. In a device of the character described, a horizontal panel having on one face two spaced horizontal guide members, a plurality of pivot supporting arms slidably adjustable in one guide member and a plurality of tension members slidably adjustable in the other guide member substantially as specified.
ln testimony whereof I affix my signature.
EARL PEPPER.
