To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, ELI CINDEL, a citizen States, residing at Nemo, in the county'of Lawrence and Stateof South Dakota, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Rule or Tool Holders forGarment Pockets, of which the follow-- ing is a specification.-

This invention relates to attachments for garments for preventing the loss of articles placed therein, and the primary object of the invention is to provide a novel device removablyassociated with a pocket-of a mechanics garment for preventing the loss of a rule or tool placed therein.

Another object of the invention is 'to provide' means for spreading the pockets of a garment laterally so as to bring the front and rear-walls'thereof into close proximity whereby said Walls will frictionally engage objects placed therein to prevent the accidental loss thereof. I p

A further object of the invention is to pro vide a novel means for preventing the loss of a rule from the rule pocket of a mechanics garment comprising a resilient clip arrangedto spread the pocket laterally for bringing the front and rear faces of the pocket into intimate contact with the oppo site faces of the rule, and means for engaging the pocket to hold the spring clip against dis lacement therefrom.

1? further object of theinvention is to provide a resilient U-shaped clip for engaging the side walls of a pocket to spread the same laterally, and an attaching clip carried by the bight portion of the U-shaped .clip for engaging the outer face of the pocket for inposition, said holdingthe U-sha-ped clip attaching clip forming a guide and wear surface to facilitate the entranceof the rule into the pocket.

Afurther object ofthe invention is to provide a removable loss preventing device for pockets of the'above character, which is durable and eflicient in use, one that is simple andeasy to manufacture, and one which can be placed upon the market, at a low cost.

From the foregoing description, it can be seen that an exceptionally simple device hasbeen provided for removable association with pockets for preventing the accidental displacement of articles placed in the pocket.
