Description

July 10, 1923. I I 1,461,566
C. VACEK NECKTIEI HOLDER v vFiled June 13, 1921 I gwuemtoz Vacs/a Patented July 10, 1923.
CHARLES VACEK, OF CHICAGO, ILLINOIS NECK'IVIE HOLDER.
Application filed. June 13, 1921. Serial No. 477,171.
without the necessity of passing the same around a collar and obviating the practice of, forming the tie into a knot each time the same is worn or fittedto the collar.
The invention is designed for use in connection with a tie of the four-in-hand type, the device constituting a holder and a form for the tie, which, is .mounted thereon.
Other objects and advantages will be ap parent and suggest themselves as'the nature of the invention is understood.
While the drawings illustrate an embodiment of the invention, it is to be understood that in adapting the same to meet different conditions and requirements, various changes .in the form, proportion and minor details of construction may be resorted to without departing from the nature of the invention.
Referring tothe accompanying drawings forming a part of the specification,
Figure 1 is a front view of the holder, and
Figure 2 is an edge View thereof.
Corresponding and like parts are referred to in the following description and designated in the several views of the draw- I ings by like reference characters.
The holder may be constructed of any suitable sheet material and in general appearance is of Y-forni and comprises a stem wardly and oppositely inclined and are joined to the stem 1 in a manner to provide a depression 3 in line with the stem. The outer edges of the arms 2 merge into the outer edges of the stem 1, whereas the upper edges of the arms are abruptly deflected at their inner ends to provide the depression 3. As a result the inner ends of the arms 2 are constricted at their juncture with the stem and this.is of advantage in the formation of the tie as it prevents the same from slipping or becoming displaced. The lower end of the stem 1 is expanded, as indicated at 4, toprevent vertical displacement of the holder after the tie has been formed thereon. A clip 5 of any approved construction is appliedto the rear side of the expanded end 4: and servesas means for attaching the holder. to the front of the shirt when the device is in position. The arms 2 pass between thefolds of bowed rearwardly and oppositely inclined arms carried by said body at itsupper end,
said arms being reduced where they join the body to provide a depression between the adjacent'ends of the arms to preventdisplacement of the tie, the lower end of the body being expanded, a clip carried by said expanded portion at the rear sidethereof, the arms serving to hold the device in place on a collar, and the expanded portion cooperating with the depression to hold a tie in place on the device.
' In testimony whereof I aflix my signature in presence of two witnesses.
' CHARLES VACEK.
