l'HoLnnn non NURSING BOTTLES.
'Application'filed August 26, 1920. .Serial No.406,248.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that RUssnLLE. BANNON, a citizen of the United States of America, residing at Springfield, in the county of Hampden and State of Massachusetts, has
invented certain'new and useful lmprove- Y ments in Holders for Nursing Bottles, of which the following is a specification.
This'invention relates to improvements in supports for nursing bottles and its leading object is to provide a support which will hold a nursingbottle on a crib, basket Or other device in which a child or infant may be arranged, in such manner that the nursing bottle will be supported in an inclined position to prevent the infant from drawing in air and getting-the colic and capable of being swung outwardly from feeding position.
vide a device which can be used for supporting all types and sizes of bottles and which has an overlying yoke capable of supporting the bottle at different inclinations with respect to the holder and the crib or the like.
With the above and other objects in vlew this invention relates to certain new and useful'constructions, combinations and arrangements of parts, clearly described in the following specification and fully illustrated in the accompanying drawings, in which: i
The figure is a perspective view of the device illustrating a bottle supported in drinking position thereby.
Referring to the accompanying'drawings 5 designates a side bar of a cr b to which is attached a bracket formed of wire and con sisting of a bar 6 having lugs or terminal portions provided with eyes 8 secured in place to the bar 5 by means of screws 7 or the like. The central portion of the bar 6 between the terminal eyes thereof is slightly spaced from the adjacent face of the bar 5. This bracket construction supports a frame consisting of bars 9 and 10 which are con nected to each other-by means of a loop 12 preferably disposed at an angle relative to the bars 9 and 10. to receivethe tapered neck of the nursing bottle. The lower portions of the bars 9 and 10 are formed with registering eyes 13 which are connected together by meansof a tie rod 14 having its ends substantially bound around said eyes as will be readily understood. The bars 9 and 10 Another object of the invention is to pro are further-provided with outwardly offset closed loops providing eyes 9 disposed in registration with each other and which are connected to each other by meansof a tie rod 22.
A U shaped frame consisting of side bars. 18 and 19 is pivotally connected to the eyes 9 to have a swinging movement thereon and this U shaped frame provides a loop 20 on its outer end whichforms a pocket for the upper end of the nursing bottle and a second pocket 21 located inwardly thereof, where- 'by the nursing bottle may be disposed in various angular positions.
Any nursing bottle whether cylindrical or oval in cross section can be supported on the holder with reach of the infant. The holder will support the nursingbottle so that the milk or other thenipple within convenient liquid food contained therein will always occupy a position immediately above the nipple and the air in the nursing bottle will not be drawn in by the infant during the feeding. The inclination of the nursing bottle may be adjusted by positioning it'in eitherofthe pockets 20'or 21 of the adjusting yoke 17 and when so adjusted the hydrostatic pressure of the milk or liquid foodmay also be varied so that the flow can be regulated to some extent. I
When the infant is finished. feeding'the holder may be swung outwardly of the crib or the like so as to be out of the way of the infant. 7
Having described my invention, I claim: 1. A holder for nursing bottles or the like consisting of a bracket adapted to be secured to the side of a crib, a frame swingingly supported by the bracket and provided'with an opening through which the neck of a bottle may extend downwardly to support a nipple below the frame with the bottle in inclined position, and a yoke pivotally connected with the frame and provided with.
means for adjusting the inclination of the bottle supported.
2. A bottle holder consisting of a frame provided with a laterally disposed loop adapted to receive the neck of aninverted" bottle, and a yoke pivoted to the frame above the loop and provided with meansfor supporting the bottle in more'thanone inclined y position.
3. A nursing bottle holder consisting of a frame provided With a laterally dispo holder in depending position on the side of a rigid 100p designed to receive the neck of an crib arranged to permit said holder to swing inverted nursing bottle, a second 100p upwardly and outwardly thereof.
hingedly secured to the frame above the J Signed by me at Springfield, Massachu- 5 first 100p and provided with a plurality. of tt pockets for receiving the base end of the bottle, and means for supporting the bottle RUSSELL E- BA NON.
