Description

Apr.24,1923. I I 1,452,865
G. BASILIO COMBINED WINDOW SHADE BRACKET AND CURTAIN POLE SUPPORT Filed Jan. 50 1922 Fetented Apr. 24, 1923.
UNITED STATES GEN'NARO BASILIO, OFNEW HAVEN, CONNECTICUT.
COMBINED WINDOVV-SHADE BRACKET AND CURTAIN-POLE SUPPORT.
Application filed January 30, 1922. Serial No. 532,648.
To all whom. it may concern:
Be it known that I, GENNARO BASILIO, a citizen of the United States, residing at New Haven, in the county of New Haven and State of Connecticut, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Combined Window-Shade Brackets and Curtain-Pole Supports; and I do hereby declare the following, when taken in connection with the accompanying drawings and the characters of reference marked thereon, to be a full, clear, and
exact description of the same, and which simple construction which provides for the construction of window-shade brackets for window-shade rollers of different lengths, and the invention consists in the construction as hereinafter described and particularly recited in the claim.
In carrying out my invention, I form a bracket from a sheet of metal, one edge 5 of which is turned at right angles to form a base, which is secured to the window-casing by screws or otherwise. The main portion 6 of the plate projects outward and is formed in its upper edge with a notch 7 to support a curtain-pole 8. In the plate are two angular holes 9 and 10, through which project the squared shanks 11 and 12 of shade-black ets 13 and 1 1, which are adapted to support shade-rollers 15 and 16 in the usual manner. These shanks 11 and 12 have their, corners threaded to receive nuts 17 and 18, which stand on one side of the plate 6, and locknuts 19 and 20, which bear upon the opposite side of the plate, so that the shanks may be adjusted toward or from the plates, according to the length of the shade-rollers to be supported. Preferably, the shade-rollers will be arranged so that one rolls up from the inside and the other from the outside.
Brackets thus constructed can be produced at low cost and provide, in a simple manner, for adjustment for different lengths of shade-rollers.
I claim:
In a combined double window-shade bracket and curtain-pole support, the combination with a plate formed upon its inner edge with an integral flange standing at a right angle to it and adapting it to be secured to a window casing, and the said plate being formed in its upper edge with a seat for a curtain-pole and below the said seat with two non-circular holes; of two shademounting brackets having shade-mounting arms, and non-circular threaded shanks adapted to pass through the respective nbncircular holes of the bracket in which they are held against rotation. and two nuts located upon each of the said shanks on opposite sides of the plate, whereby the shanks are firmly supported therein with a capacity for endwise adjustment.
In testimony whereof, I have signed this specification in the presence of two subscribing witnesses.
GENNARO BASILIO.
