BOTTLE HOLDER.

To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, Cnanmcs COHEN, a citizen of the United States, residing at Bridgeport, in the county oi? Fairiield and State oi Connecticut, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Bottle l lolders, of which the following is a specification.

This invention relates to bottle holders,

more particularly of the class employed on the (interiors of buildings for temporarily si'ipporting milk bottles and the like during the interval between the delivery by the inilkman and the reception by the house- 1 holder. and has for one of its objects to simplify and increase the e'l'iiciency of devices of this character.

Another object of the invention is to provide a device of this character including a body constructed from asingle section of material, preferably sheet metal, and formed to not only hold abottle in safe position, but likewise to protect and shield the mouth or neck portion of the same.

W'ith these and other objects in view the invention consists in certain novel features of construction as hereinafter shown and described and then specifically pointed out in the claim, and in the drawings illustrative oithe preferred embodiment of the invention:

The body portion of the improved device is constructed from a single section of sheet material, preferably galvanized iron, aluminum or other non-corrosive material. and is initially formed as in Fig. 5 with clefts 10 in one edge with the portion 11 between the clefts bent at rightangles to the body por tion 12 along the line 13, and the side portions 1% of the body bent at rightangles thereto along the lines 15. portions 14 when thus disposed, torm aboxlike structure with a top 12, sides 14 and rear 11, and open at the front and lj ottom.

The side portions 14 are extended to form attaching cars 16, to receive holding nails 17 or other fastening means, whereby the dcvice may be attached to a supporting structure, for instance the outside casing of a door, indicated-at l8.

Attached at 19 to the rear member 11 is a resilient clasp device 20, adapted to receive the neck portion 21 oil a bottle. for instance a milk bottle, as indicated. The mouth portion of the bottle is thus disposed relatively close to the underiace oi? the top portion 12 of the device and is protected thereby from rain or snow and other objectionable elements.

The device is simple in construction, can be inexpensively manufactured and struck up by machinery without manual labor, and operates effectually for the purposes described. a

The preferred embodiment of the invention is disclosed in the drawings and set forth in the specification, but it will be understood that mod ifications within the scope of the claimed invention may be made in the construction without departing from the principle of the invention or sacrificing any of its advantages. i

Having thus described the invention, what is claimed as new is:

A bottle holder formed from a section of sheet material with spaced clefts leading 1 1111110118 edge. the material between the clefts beingbent at rightangles to the body of the section and the material externally of the lines of the clefts bent at rightangles to the body of the section, the material eX-,

ternally of the cleit'ts being further bent outwardly to form attaching ears. and a bottle clasp device connected to the section and adapted to engage the neck of a bottle and hold the same with its mouth portion beneath the body of the section and protected thereby.
