\ Application filedMay 20,
T 0 all whom it may concern: v
Be it known that I, MIKIEROMASZKIE- WICZ, a citizen of Poland, residing at Moun-' taintop, in the countyof Luzerne and State of Pennsylvania, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Fence Constructions, of which the following is aspeci fication. v a v v This invention relates to certain new and useful improvements in fences, and has particular reference to a fence constructed of rectangular frame sections with means carried by the opposite ends of the frame sections for securing the same to a post.
The primary object of'the invention resides in the provision of a fence constructed of rectangular frame sections with a metallic clip pivotally connected to the upper and lower edges of each frame section for anchoring the same to a post and being constructed for cooperation with the frame sections to maintain the alined sections of the fence in alinement, and also permitting a section to be disposed at any angle relative to an adjacent section. 1 v
With these general objects in view and others that will appear as the nature of the invention is better understood, the same consists in the novel construction, combination and arrangement of parts hereinafter more fully described, illustrated in the accompanying drawings, and pointed out in the appended claims.
In the accompanying drawings forming a part of this application and in which like designating characters refer to corresponding parts throughout theseveral views:
Fig. 1 is a fragmentary side elevational view of two frame sections constructed in accordance with the present invention, the
same being illustrated as mounted upon apost Y Fig. 2 1s a fragmentary detail sectional view of a portion of one of the frame sections and the metallic clips carried thereby,
and further showing the clip mounted upon a supporting post, a
Fig. 3 is a detailed sectional view taken on line III-III of Fig. 2, showing the M split spring end of the clip engaging the upper rail of the frame section to hold the same properly positioned,
Fig. 4 is a detailed sectional view taken on line IV-IV of Fig. 2,
Fig. 5 is a detail view showing a portion of the fence frame, the mounting clips fence posts.
longitudinal axis of l the frame" sections; I Fig. 6jis afragmentary top, plan view Showing two; vframe sections of theflfence 5 connected .to a p ost with', one. of the frame sections extending at right angles to the I other section, and a ig. 7; is a. fragmentary plangvie w of a frame section showing a modified form of mounting clip to accommodate the mounting of the frame section upon rectangular Referring more in" detail to ,the accom panying drawings, there is illustrated-- a fence embodying frame sections preferably of rectangular form having upper and lower' rails 1 connected by end rails 2, crossed wires' 3 extending between the rails and secured thereto in, any suitable manner as shown in Figures 1 and 2. The rectangular frameseo' tions carry devices adjacent the'upper and f lower. ends thereoffor mountingthe frame sections upon a fence. post 4, the adjacent ends of frame sections being secured to a.
single post-as shownv in Fig.1. a The devices for connecting the frame sections to .theposts 4 embody 'a metallic clip associated with each: corner of the fence" frame, the clip embodying a metallic strip;
5 pivotally mounted upon a bolt, 6 carried by the upper andlower rails 1, ofthe frame, 3
the outer end of'the strip 5 being'twisted at right angles as at? with the end thereof bent into circular formation at 8v for enclosing the fence .post 4,the upper end of I the bent portion 8 being slightly canted as I at 8 for impinging the sideof the post while a fastening device 9' permanently securesthe l bent portion to said post;
The inner end of the metallic str'i 5 I bent to provide aresilient loop portion 10 hav ng the free ends thereof bifurcated as at 1 1 and spread apart 'orseparated forreF-fl sillently engaging the' horizontal or upper: p and lower rails 1 of the frame sections as clearly shown in Figures 3 and 4.
Withan attaching deviceof this character,
the frame sections of'the fence may be sef cured or mounted 7 upon ground anchored:
posts .4: in alinement with each other as I shown in. Fig. 1, or anyof the frame sections may be moved to anyangle desired relative Figures 5 and 6. When the frame sections Y l to adjacent frame section's-"as indicated in are mounted in alinement asyillustrated in I F ig; 1;I'the bifurcated ends '11 resi1ient1y en'- gage-the upper and lower rails 1 of the or: maint in n e e properly positioned. l
v A modified form of the attaching clip frame sections shown in Fig. 7, wherein the outer end of the strip 5 is bent into an open-sided' rectangular" arm 12 for enclosing aif ence post of reetan i1'1a1= f0rmati0n, the remaining elements of t e clip being of identical. construction as describedconnection, with the preferred From the" above detail description of the invention, it is believedi'that the construe tioii and operationwthereof' iwill atonce be" apparentf'and while: there fare herein shown' and described what are be1-ieve'd-tobe ;the
, preferred embodiments thereof, i-ti'snevertheless to be understood that Various forms,
modifications and arrangements of the parts may be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the inventionas claimedl What is claimed is In-ta fence of the type described, rectangu lar frame sections, a fence 'jpost interposed between the adjacent ends of the frame sec-- tions, a spring clip pivotally connected to the upper and lower railo'feach frame sec tion adjacentthe ends thereof, post attaching means carried by the outer ends of the" spring clip,- and the inner ends of the spring clips beingbifurcated for engagement with the upper and lower-rails of the frame sections".
In testimony whereof I my signature.
