Be it known that l, (l1-malins if. ilumina., a citizen of the United States, residing at Boston, in the county otI Suffolk, State oli Massachusetts, have invented a certain new and useful improvement iii Pocketed vCarrier Equipments, ot which the following is a specification, reference being had therein to the accompanying drawings.

The invention is an improvement in pockolass embracing cartridge-carriers. hospital corps belts, medical oflicers belts, and vari- `ous other carriers having `special adaptatio-ns.

The invention relates to `the pockets and pocket-covers or tia-ps oi carriers ol: the general class just mentioned.'

The invention is especially applirable for* the production of body-supported carriers` having smooth front pockets; that is to say, carriers forming part ot military or the like equipment, worn by being supported upon the body of the wearer7 and "furnished with one or more pockets having their cover orl flap arrangements, and the Fastening devices therefor, located at the top ot the pockets so that the pocket-.fronts are elearand smooth in the closed condition of the pookets. However, the main feature of the invention is applicable yalso in the case ot' a pocket havinga cover or flap-member that folds down against the pocket-trout.

The invention consists, essentially, iii ay pocketed carrier having combined with the pocket thereof a pair of cover or flap-members located at the back and front of thel s pocket-mouth, respectively, which are adapted to fold in opposite direct-ions toward` each other and interlap over the said mouth, giving double weather-protection, `and constituted by Vprolongations of the back and front ofan internal reinforce orilining for the pocket-back, pocket-trout, and pocketbottom.

The invention may be embodiedy variously in practice. The drawings show different ,embodiments of the features thereof.

Fig. 1 of the drawings is an isometric view of two of the smooth-front pockets of a cartridge-carrier` containing one of the said embodiments.

In the case of the construct-ion shown in Fig. 4, the front cover or flap-member 3*'- is like the corresponding` member of Figs. l, Q, and 3, but the rear cover or flap-member 3e is of single thickness,v as in the case of the covers or iiaps of the construction heretofore usual, and isiinished off'at its freeendin the usual manner, and said free end is fastened in place at the front of the pocket through the interengagement of the members of its fastener. y
