JOHN BJORKLUND, F
RAYMOND, MONTANA.
CIGAR HOLDER.
Application filed May 13,
i To ollwi'iomt may concern:
Be it knovm that I, J OHN BJORKLUND, a citizen of the United States, residing at Baymond, in the county of Sheridan and State .5 of Montana, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Cigar Holders, of which the following is a. specification.
This invention relates to improvements in cigar holders and its object is to provide a simple and practical device of this type that is cheap to manufacture and neat in appearance. A further object is to provide a device for holding cigars that is sanitary and economical in use. With. the foregoing and other objects in View the invention con sists in the combination and arrangement of parts to be hereinafter fully described, pointed out in the appended claim and illustrated in the accompanying drawing which forms a part of this specification and in which Fig. 1 is a view of my improved cigar holder in side elevation illustrating its application.
Fig. 2 is a sectional view of a slightly modified form of the device.
Fig. 3 is a cross section on line 3--3 of Fig. 1, enlarged.
Like reference characters denote corresponding parts throughout the several views. The reference numeral 1 denotes a tube preferably hexagonal in cross section as shown in Fig. 3. Both ends of the tube are threaded and the end2 is curved and provided with the bulb which is readily removable and easily cleaned.v The bulb 3 is preferably made ornamental or fancy in appearance and of a light durable material. such as aluminum or the like The opposite end of the tube is threaded interiorly to receive the mouth-piece 4.
Referring now to Fig. 1 I provide the tube 1920. Serial No. 381,005.
1 with the hollow perforate impaling-point 5 adapted to pierce the cigar 7 and when the cigar is lighted the smoke is drawn through the mouth-piece 4, tube 1 and impalingnpoint 5 and any moisture, nicotine or the like will gravitate into the bulb 3. The tube 1 is provided also with a sliding ring the tubeengaging portion of which is of hexagonal formation to conform to the periphery of said tube so that little or no lateral play of the ring upon the tube is possible. The larger portion of the sliding ring engages with the cigar 7 to retain the same in fixed position, in conjunction with the impaling' point. during the smoking;- operation.
Referring now to Fig. 2 the tube 1 is formed with the elongated impaling-point 9, perforated. and adapted for insertion in the non-lighted end of the cigar. This form of holder permits the smoker to use the entire cigar without waste of any portion thereof thus combining efliciency and economy.
Vhat is claimed. is zi In a cigar holder, a curved tube, a bulb releasably carried at one end of said tube, a mouthpiece at the other end of said tube, and an elongated perforate impaling point bent at one end for engagement with the curved tube. the main portion of said impalinntube extending parallel to and being spaced away from the curved tube for insertion in one end of a cigar as sole support for the same.
In testimony that l claim the foregoing as my own I have hereto ah'ixed my signature in the presence of two subscribing.witnesses.
