It is of course understood that the chain 6, is designed to support the handles of umbrellas the pointsof which are inserted in the drip cup 11, and'hold them in proper position in the rack.
From the above description it will be obvious that a rack constructed as herein shown and described may be decorated in any desired manner and composed of any desired material and that it will be light and readily portable from place to place and yet may be used to support a large number of hats, coats, and other articles.
The preferred embodiment of the invention is disclosed in the drawings and set forth in the specification, but it will be understood that any modifictions within the scope of the claimed invention may be made in the construction without departing from the principle of the invention or sacrificing any of itsadvantages.
I claim:
1. A rack for the purpose se forth comprising a series of spaced standards, and a series of superposed spaced rigid brace devices arranged between the standards and each consisting of two pair of parallel bars, the bars of each pair extending; inopposite directions with respect to each other and with the bars of one pair having their inner ends secured to the bars of the other pair intermediate the ends of these latter, and with the outer ends of the bars of each pair of bars secured to said standards corresponding in number to the number of bars of the brace device.
2. A rack for the purpose setforth comprising a series of spaced standards, and a series of superposed spaced rigid brace de vices arranged between the standards and each consisting of two pair of parallel bars, the bars of each pair extending in opposite directions with respect to each other and with the bars of one pair having their inner ends secured to the bars of the other pair intermediate the ends of these latter, and with the outer ends of the bars of each pair of bars secured to said standards corresponding in number'to the number of bars of the brace device, the inner ends of the bars of on pair secured to the center of the bars of the other pair thereby providing a. rectangular support.
3. A rack for the purpose forth courprising a series of spaced standards, and a series of superposed spaced rigid brace devices arranged. between the standards and each consisting oi? two pair of parallel bars. the bars or each pair extending in opposite directions with respect to each other and with the bars of one pair having their inner ends secured to the bars of the other pair intermediate the ends of these latter, and with the outer ends of the bars of each pair of bars secured to said standards corresponding in number to the number of bars of the brace device said brace devices of different size with respect to each other.

5; A rack for the purpose set forth comprising a series of: standards, and a series of superposed spaced rigid brave devices surrounded by the standards, each of said brace devices consisting of a series of bars. each of the bars of each brace device secured intermediate its ends to the inner end of one of the other of the bars oi the device thereby providing an open support, and each of the bars of each brace device projecting outwardl from the support and having its outer end secured to a standard.
