The invention relates to current motors and hasfoii its object to provide a device of this charaeter adapted to 'be disposed on 'the bottom ol a stream and comprising a 'wheel disposed Withinthe easing, said easinp; being' provided with intake and discharge pipes in alignment with eachv other `and t'ingrentially disposed in relation to the wheel.
A further object is. toI provide the Wheel `with 'lshaped brackets, between the ears of which featheringr water engaging* blades are pivoted, said brackets also formingr means for limiting the pivotal. movement of the blade on the driven side of the Wheel.

The wheel 10 as a whole is mounted on antifrietional bearings 18 there` by reducingthe friction to a minimum durinnv the rotation `of the Wheel. The brackets 9 are `ls.haped as shown inlfgure 3 and have their vertically disposed arms 19 ter minatinpj in' `vertically aligned ears 20, between :which ears the :inner ends 21 of the blade S are pivoted. lt lwill be seen that as the water ent' the intake member t that it will engage the blades 8 and rotate the turbine wheel in the direction of the arrow a.
As the wheel rotates in the direction of the arrow a, the blades Will feather as shown in Figure 1 thereby preventing back pressure or churning of Water which is in the portion 7 of the chamber '7. 'llhe outer Wall 1et of the easing 1 is positioned in relation to the pivotal points of the blades 8 and the free ends of .the blades 8 whereby as each blade moves to operativeposition, said Wall 1a would prevent the blade from being forced to the Wrong; `side of the bracket 9 if the current should turn the blade outwardly in` stead of inwardly.
The top it', of the easing' l may be pro* vided with a hinged member 22 whereby access n'iay be had to the interior of the oasing' 1 for repair and Cleaning` purposes.
From 'the above it Will be seen that a turbine is provided, wherein the blades will llll mon practice. It will also be seen that a turbine is provided which may be disposed on the bottom of a stream and power developed thereby utilized for driving various kinds of machinery or an electric generator it so desired.
The invention having been set forth what is claimed as new .and useful is:- A
l. A turbine Wheel comprising a horizontally disposed casing` having a horizontally disposed turbine Wheel therein, intake and discharge A.pipe carried by said casing, said intake and discharge pipes being in alignment with each other and tangentially disposed on the casing, radially disposed T- shaped brackets carried by the Wheel, said Tsh-aped brackets having their arms vertically `disposed and terminating in horizontally disposed ears, feathering blades pivoted between said ears, the Walls of said casing being so positioned in relation to the pivotal points of the eathering blades that the free ends of the blades Will be prevented from becoming reversed during the rotation of the turbine Wheel, the brackets also forming limiting means for limitingr the inward movement ot the blades.

A submerged current motor, said motor comprising a horizontally disposed casing having a chamber therein, a turbine wheel disposed in said casing, T-shaped brackets, blades carried by said turbine Wheel and. pivoted to T-shaped brackets, a shaft extending upwardly from said turbine through the casing and adapted to terminate above the sui-tace ci a stream and vtmming means whereby power mayY be transmitted to machinery to be driven, and intake and discharge pipes in connection with said casing, said intake and discharge pipes being in aligmnent with each other and tangentially disposed in relation to the casing and turbine.
