To all who/n it may conne/'n Be it known that I, FRANK RUssnLL GLASENER, a citizen of the United States of America, and a resident of Cedar Falls, Blackhawk county, Iowa, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Loading Devices for Mixing-Machines, of which the following is a specification.
My invention relates to improvements in concrete mixers, andthe object of my im` provement is to provide for "a rotatable mixingdevice supported on means for transportation, a loading device, and tiltable slideway on which the latter may be slidingly moved and tilted to a delivery' position, said loading device and said mixingdevice both operable by the same powertransporta- This` object I have accomplished by the means which are hereinafter described andclaimed, and which are illustrated in the ac- -compan ing drawings, in 'which Figure l is a si e elevation of a motor-propelled truck on which is'mounted a concrete mix improved loading-device mixing-drum, with t e 'c )ading-device and other parts removed or broken away; Figs. 3 and 4 are respectively front and rear elevations of the saine devices, with parts re-l moved or broken away, and showing diHeient positions of the loading device, and Fig.

The numeral 1^ denotes a horizontal rectangular frame mounted on carrying-wheels -2 and 3 at front and rear.

A short shaft` 70 in said frame 1 carries on its inner end va bevel-gear 38 1n constant 'mesh with a bevel-pinion 19 on the shaft 13.
On the outer end .of said shaft 70 is fixed a combined winding-drum 39 and vband-brake drum 40, the latter carrying a band-brake 41 actuated by means of theI usual pivot'ed' arm 42, link 71 and hand-lever 43.
In transversely alined bearings 48 on'the frame 33 is rotatably mounted a shaft 464 .carrying medially a Winding-drum 47 upon whichis wound a cable 49. VUpon one end of the shaft 46 is fixed a winding-drum 45, and a cable 44 is connected between said winding-drums 39k and 45 to unwind from one of them while being 'wound up on the other, and reversely.
Upon the frame 33 above the mixing-drum I25 is secured in supporting hangers 34 a water-tank 35 supplied rby a pipe 36, and delivering its contents by way of a depending pipe 37 to the interior or' said mixingdrum through itsl receiving opening 26.
The numeral 28 denotes a delivery chute which is Inediall;7 pivotally supported to the rear of said mixing-drum'on brackets 29. The chute has its forward end projected into the interior of the drum through the 'rear opening 27, and is tiltable by means of an arm 30. The forward part of saidl chute normally tilts downwardly .into the drum.
-The lever-arm 30 is used to tilt thevchute. vto elevate itsforward part, which then receives the contents of the drum as the latter rotates, and delivers thesame rearwardly into any desired receptacle.
My improved loading-device comprises an open-top vessel 51, and a tiltable supporting slideway therefor. The vessel 51 iswidest at its forward end .which part receives the materials to be mixed, and is narrowed gradually towardv its open rear end or lip 52. A' bail 50 is pivoted to said vessel at the line of its center of gravity and has a vInedial ing 53 in which is ksecured the1outer end of said cable 49.
The numeral 54 denotes a slideway for said vessel, comprising side members joined at the top fixedly by a plate 56 in an invert- .ed V-shape. The members of said slideway have medial bent plates 55 which are pivoted on the outer longitudinal faces of the frame-,hars l to permit the slidewa'y to be Vswung to its erect supporting position or-to be swung up upon the frame. On the lower extremities of saidmembers are pintles 64 ivoted in lugs 63 on disciform feet 62, the atter adapted to rest upon the supporting surface.
Upon said frame 1 are oriiced lugs 61 to pivotally' receive pintles 60 fixed on the lower end of an arm 59. The upper end of said arm has fixedy pintles 58`adapted to enterand engage notches in lugs 57 onl said slideway plate 56, to. prop the apex of the slideway and to limit its rearward move-` ment. `Upon the bottom of the vessel 51 is a flat boss 68 to rest upon the apex of the slideway.
The numeral 65 denotes a fixed standard on said frame 1 having a bearing-opening for a 'pintle 67 'upon lwhich is piyoted a fixed lug ona plate 66, the latter serving" to support thev delivery end 52 of the vessel 51, whenjdelivering its contents into said mixing-drum 25.
The vessel l51 may be loaded iwith the Ina-- terials tovbe mixed, while on the ground on either side of the truck. The vessel is then hauled by the cable 49 up the adjacent inclined leg or member of the slideway 54l until i't is at a proper height, its lip 52 then being directed rearwardly, the boss 68 seated on the apex of the slideway, andthe veswardly, and the former swungin a reverse direction to properly position them 'out of the way. 1
My improved loading-device with the V- shape .lideway7 is useful in loading from v either side of the truck as convenient.
Having described my invention, what I' claim as.. new, and desire to secure by 'Letters Patent, is:
l. In combination, a transportable structure, an invertedv V-shape slideway pivotally mounted on said structure vwith its members traversing o posite sides thereof, means mounted on 'structure and releasably'connected to vsaid slideway for limiting its scope of movement in one direction, and a vessel slidable upon said slideway and tiltable thereupon to deliver its contents into mixing apparatus mounted on said structure. 2. In combination, a transportable structure, an inverted V-shape slidefway whose members are pivotally connected to oppo-.

In combination, a transportable structure, a power-plant mounted upon said structure, a tiltable slideway having members extending to opposite sides of said structure, an open vessel slidable upon either member of said slideway and tiltable thereupon to evacuate its contents into a mixingdevice mounted on said structure, and power-transmission mechanism disconnectibly connected between said power-plant and said vessell to successively slide and lift the vessel upon said slideway and then tilt itV thereupon to cause it to evacuate its contents into the mlxmg-devlce. l
