Belt known that l, THOMAS E. ldnnwiir, a citizen of the United States, residin at of Illinois, have invented a certain new and which the following isa specification.

This invention relates to spark plugs for interned combustion engines, and has for its object to provide a new and improved device of this description.

The invention is illustrated in the eccon'n panying drawings, wherein- Figure 1 is n sectional view showing a. spark plug embodying the invention;

in carrying out my invention I provide a body portion or shell 1 of the plug, which is ofmetel and to which one of the electrodes is connected, the body portion being threaded to engage a threaded opening in the cylinder, An insulating piece or icore 2 is provided, and a metallic rod 3 extends through this insulating piece, the lower end forming; the other electrode of the plug.
