To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that we, CARL C. KETGHUM and CARL ZIEHL, citizens of the United States, residing at Kapowsin, in the county of Pierce and State of Washington, have invented new and useful Improvements in Ticket-Sheets, of which the following is a specification.
This invention has reference to a sales ticket sheet or book.
The object of the invention is to print or otherwise indite upon a sheet of paper, card board or the like indicia setting forth the names and prices of different articles, to cut and perforate the sheet around the indicia whereby the cards containing the indicia may be readily severed from the sheet for presentation by the customer to the cashier.
A further object of the invention is to produce an article of this character in which a plurality of sheets are employed, and which are suitably secured one over the other, all of the sheets having imprinted thereon indicia setting forth the names of various articles and the prices therefor, such indicia being arranged on the sheets one to the rear of the other, and all of the sheets being stamped or otherwise cut and perforated to form each of the printed parts of the sheets with cards, the upper portions of the cards being cut and the lower portions being perforated, the out portion being arranged at an outward angle with respect to the front sheet whereby the outer cards may be easily grasped and successively torn from their perforated connection with the sheets proper without necessitating the removal of the .front sheet.
In the drawings:
Figure 1 is a plan view of a ticket sheet constructed in accordance with this invention.
Fig. 2 is a sectional view approximately on the line 2-2 of Fig. 1.
Referring now to the drawings in detail, the numerals 5 designate a plurality of sheets of card board or the like which are of equal size and which are arranged one directly over the other. The sheets are connected by stitching, the said stitching, inclicated by the numeral 6 being preferably arranged to the top edges thereof.

Specification of Letters Patent. Patented Dec, 16, 1919.
Application filed June 20, 1919.
Serial No. 305,459.
indicia 7 is imprinted on each of the same, the said printed matter being arranged on the same spaces of each of the sheets so that the indicia of the rear sheets will be arranged directly opposite that of the front sheets. This indicia indicates the names of articles of merchandise, the prices thereof and the instructions Pay cashier.
By a suitable machine the portions of the sheets containing the indicia are divided into cards by slitting the upper edges thereof at an inward angle and slitting the sides for a suitable distance from the upper corners thereof and by perforating the remainder of the bodies constituting the cards. The upper slitted portions of the cards are for distinction indicated by the numerals 8, and by providing the longitudinal cuts at an inward or forward angle, as above indicated, the same may be bent on a line with the remaining of the vertical cuts outwardly to provide tabs. All of the tabs project beyond the outer sheet and it will be apparent that the front tab may be readily grasped by the salesman and a pull upon the card will result in the latter being torn on its perforated or weakened lines, so that the said card may be readily removed, handed the purchaser who in turn presents it to the cashier for payment of the amount marked on the card.
The improvement may be hung at convenient places with respect to the sales persons in different departments of a mercantile or other establishment, and it is believed that from the foregoing description the simplicity, cheapness, convenience and novelty of the construction will be apparent without further detailed description.
Having thus described the invention, What is claimed as new, is
1. In a device for the purpose set forth, a plurality of connected sheets each having removable cards formed therewith arranged one to the rear of the other, said cards having indicia imprinted thereon and said cards having their upperends arranged at a slight outward angle with respect to the sheets on which they are formed.
2. In a device for the purpose set forth, a plurality of sheets of paper or the like disposed one over the other and having their upper edges connected; @21 055 said s eets being stamped to provide cards arranged in series one to the rear of the other, said cards having indicia printed thereon and having their upper edges and their sides from their said upper edges cut, the said cuts at the upper edges being arranged at an inward angle whereby the upper portions of the cards may be bent outwardly with respect to the said sheets, and the remainder of the cards being connected to the sheets by Weak- 1O ened lines.
In testimony whereof we aflix our signatures.
CARL G. KETCHUM. CARL ZIEHL.
