' part of this specification, Figure 1 is a side view of a lardbucket having my invention thereupon; Fig. 2 is a vertical section of the same; and Figs. 3 and 4 showr the ordinary modes of fitting lids to the buckets.
Similar letters of reference indicate similar .parts of my invent-ion in all the views.

The object of my invention is to adapt the lid or cover to be convenientlyr removed uninjnred, so that it may be used for other household purposes.
A common mode in which lids arehattached means of a sharp-pointed instrument, render-l ing the cover useless for any purpose of utility.
The advantages possessed by my invention over the method shown in Fig. et consist in that the lid, itting over the bucket, serves as a hoop to a barrel, and thatthe lid, While forming a better joint, is much more readily removed.
I am engaged in manufacturing buckets i'n all the methods herein shown, and iind that, Vwhile that inode herein claimed as my invention is no more expensive-than the other methods, it is greatly preferred by the trade.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new, and wish to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The combination and arrangement of the vessel A, having the interior ring a, With the outside-iitting lid or cover B, substantially as and for the purposes herein described.
