HEAT-CONSERVING COMPOSITION.

To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, MANDY EDLUND, formerly a subject of the King of Sweden, but having declared his intention to become a citizen of the United States, residing at Nederland, county of Boulder, and State of Colorado, have invented a certain new and useful Heat-Conserving Composition; and I do declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.
My invention relates to a composition of matter for covering pipes, boilers and other like or similar articles to conserve the heat or prevent its escape or loss by radiation.
My composition consists of clay, sawdust, cork, hair and shoddy. The term shoddy in the sense herein employed means a fibrous material obtained by deviling or tearing into fibers refuse woolen goods of various kinds. The cork must be in granular or powdered form. The clay forms the greater portion by weight, or the base of the composition, and should preferably be in a pure state and free from sand or other foreign material.
The various ingredients when used in the Specification of Letters Patent.

following proportions will give good results:
Clay 100 ounds Sawdust 4 P Cork 4L Hair 4 Shoddy 4 'matter, consisting of clay, sawdust, cork,
hair and shoddy, combined approximately in the proportions of: one hundred pounds of clay, tour pounds of sawdust, four pounds of cork, four pounds of hair and four pounds of shoddy.
