A lfurther object is to provide a blank,
the end portions of which are formed in such manner that a main central tongue is pro- ,vided with edge portions extending at. an incline with reference to theextreme edge of the blank,- thereby permitting a given degree of movement between-the 1916111811138 of the cover when the dge portions or flaps are folded into position and permitting the constructionof a coverrfrom the same size of blank as that used for the box.
In the drawings, 7
Figure 1 is a view of the blank from which the box is made, the same blank being employed for the top.

The side flaps are designated 17 and 18 and the scored portions thereof Each end portion is cut away so that the edge 22 is at an incline with. reference to the extreme edge of ends 23. Each end portion is provided with slits 24 extending at an angle as shown and adapted to be engaged by the tongues 26 of the flaps 17 and 18, these tongues being provided with rounded ends 27 and with hooked portions 28, the latter positively engaging the edges of the slits 24 when the flaps are folded into position for forming the box proper or the cover therefor.;
portion 22 permits of a given degree of movement between interlocked en'd flaps and side flaps, for the purpose indicated.
