Be known that I, Eva LA B'rvrfipnn, a subject of the King of Great Britaim'resid ingv at Ste. Lina, in the Province of Alberta and Dominion of Canada, have invented new and useful Improvements in Curtain- Fixtures, of which the following is a specification. E v

This invention relates to an improved window fixture.

The object of theinv-ention is to produce a simple device of this character which may be permanently attached to' the'window cas ing and which has associated therewith means whereby a shade, curtain, drapery pole, etc., may be easily and conveniently supported upon the casing.

Other ob ects and advantages will appear as the nature of the invention is better underst-ood, reference being had to the accompanying drawings.

lVhile in practice two of the fixtures are employed only one of the same is illustrated in the drawings.

Referring now to the drawings in detail the numeral 1 designates a window casing. On the face of the casing at the corners thereof are secured fixtures constructed in accordance with this invention. The fixture includes what I will term a body portion which is struck from a. single piece of suitable material, metal preferred, bent upon itself to provide a vertical plate 2 formed with suitable openings adapted to receive securing elements and also formed, adjacent the upper end thereof with a rectangular or U-shaped projection 3. The offset portions formed by this projection, or the straight parallel shoulders thereof, indicated for distinction by the numerals at have registering slots 5. The plate 1, upon its outer edge, and at its lower portion is provided with an angular outstanding pro ection 6 which forms the-side of-the fixture. Theside, at its upper; edge and at 'a suitable distance from its lonterfc orner is provided with a. strip that is bentgat a right angle to the side so as to providea horizontal} straight ledge 7. the said element, indicated by the numeral 11 entering-the window casing.

The shade carrying bracket is indicated by the numeral 12 and is also constructed from a single sheet of suitable material pro viding the ear 13 having the opening 14 to receive one of the pintles of the curtain and having an angular extension or body portion 15 that is wider than the ear 13 and is centrally bent upon itself forming upper and lower connecting plates, each of which have alining openings that register with the elongated opening 9 in the ledge 7 Through these alining openings pass a threaded member 16 having a binding screw 17 thereon, and by this arrangement the bracket 12 may be arranged at any desired position longitudinally on the ledge of the fixture.

The side 10 of the ledge 7 is provided with a transverse opening 18 designed to receive a removable binding and securing element 19 connected with the upper and flattened end of a slotted sleeve 20. One of the edges provided by the sTot in the sleeve is formed with spaced notches 21, and these notches are adapted to be engaged by a lug 22 formed on the straight arm 23 of a substantiallyhook-shaped member 24. The lug is of a size sufficient to freely pass through the slot in the sleeve and by turning the hook member the same may be brought to engage in any of the notches, thus adjusting the hook member vertically with respect to' the fixture and sustaining said member at such adjustment. The hook member is adapted to support a sash curtain.

The supporting member for the drapery pole and for the lace curtain is particularly indicated by the numeral 25 and is struck from a single piece of suitable metal, to comupon its upper edge with spaced arcuate depressions 28 and 29 respectively, the depres sion 28 being designed to receive the curtain pole and the depression 29 being smaller than the depression 28 and adapted to re ceive the lace curtain pole. The vertical limb 26 is curved inwardly and has its lower edge reduced, providing a finger 30 that is adapted to be received in the slot 8 at the juncture of the ledge 7 with the side thereof. The horizontal limb 28 of the member is formed with an angular inturned portion 31 that has its lower edge provided with a downturned finger 32, and this finger is adapted to be received in the slots 5 formed in the shoulders 4 of the projection 3.

It is believed, from the foregoing descrip- "tion, when taken in connection with the accompanying drawings the simplicity of construction and the method of operation will window casin be apparent without further detailed description.

Having thus described the invention, what is claimed as new, is

' In a device for thepu'rpose set forth, a plate designed to be secured vertically on a said plate having a slotted offset adjacent its upper end and an angle extension on its lower and outer edge, a sleeve. depending from said extension, a horizontally disposed ledge plate formed on the upper edge of the flange, and a downturned portion on the inner edge of the ledge designed to be secured to the window casing, the ledge designed to have arranged thereon a longitudinally adjustable shade bracket, the slotted oifset of the plate and the ledge designed to support a drapery pole bracket, and the sleeve designed to receive and support therefrom a sash curtain'hook.
