This invention relates to tackle or gearing for handling boats or the like.

The numeral 5 designates a spacing bar, which is provided near each end with rethereof. The ends of these recesses are closed while their outer sides and topsare open.

Arranged near each end of the bar 5 is a block 7, comprising spaced plates 8 and 9, connected by bolts 10, 11, 12, 13 and 1 1.

A device of the character described, comprising pulley blocks having openings formed therein which have their tops opened, a bar having its end portions projecting into the openings, each end portion being provided with a longitudinal recess having its top opened, and a keeper pivoted to each block for movement into the recess.
