To all whom it may concern Be it known that I. lViLLmu. LEROY IALLEE, a citizen of the United States residing at Topeka, in the county of Shiwnee and State of Kansas, 1 have invented new and useful Improvements in Toy Guns, of which the following specification.
Thisinvention relates to a toy gun, and the principal object" ot'the invention is to 1 provide n'iechanisni operated bya Crankto feed balls into the barrel froma magazine and to project the balls from said barrel.

Inthese views, 1 indicates a platform provided with the wheels 2 so that the same may be pushed along by'a child sitting on the rear part of the platform. The gun is connected with the front part of the platform and said gun consists of a base 3 formed by an inclined block having its lower edge secured to the platform. The upper edge of said block has formed therewith or secured thereto an extension at, the upper edge of which is provided with a groove to receive the gun barrel 5. A small block 6 is secured to the upper rear edge of the base 8, with its upper end projecting above the groove and the rear end of the barrel bears against this projecting part and is secured thereto. The journal for the pin roller is formed of still wire and passes entirely through the block and cover and is formed at the cover end into a handle 19 by which the wheel may be rotated and at its other end said wire is bent to form a crank 20 which is ei'igaged by a rod 21, the other end of which engages a bell crank lever 22, which is pivoted to a depending frame 23, secured to the base and extension and acting to strengthen said parts. The other end of the bell crank lever is pivoted to a vertically movable plunger 24, which operates in a cylinder 25 depending from the front end of the extension 4. The cylinder is provided with a slot through which the pivot pin connecting the piston to the bell crank passes This plunger acts to lift the balls from the magazine of the gun which is formed by a longitudinally extending opening .26 formed in the extension 4, into the barrel. The halls are forced through a hole 27 which connects the front end of the magazine with said barrel. One side of the extension 4 is provided with a slot 28 through which extends an arm 29, which is connected with a spring plunger in the magazine. 'The other side of the extension adjacent the rear of the magazine is provided with a hole 30 through which the balls are placed into the magazine. This hole is covered by a hinged cap 31.
The magazine is filled with balls, such as marbles or the like by drawing back the magazine plunger by means of the arm 29, so as to permit the balls to enter the magazine through the hole 30. After the magazine is filled the crank handle is turned so that the pins in the wheel will engage the openings in the belt to cause the same to travel along the rollers. As the belt travels along, the projections thereon will engage the arm 9 and force the same toward the rear of the gun barrel so as to retract the plunger. As the plunger is moving rearvardly the plunger Ql will be forced upwardly to pass a ball from the magazine into the barrel. Upon the continued rotation of the parts the wedge-shape projection will start to move downwardly over the rear roller and thus release the arm 9 so that the plunger in the barrel will spring forwardly and strike the ball and project the same from the barrel. Just at the moment that the )luiwer in the barrel 3 rin s forward the gun will continue to shoot as long as the supthe barrel, an endless belt, a pair of rollers for supporting saidbelt, projections on the belt for engaging a part of the spring plunger for retracting the same, a wheel, pins thereon engaging the belt for revolving the same, a crank handle for rotating the Wheel and means connecting the handle with the vertically movable plunger to operate the same.
2. A toy of the class described, comprising a base, an extension on the upper edge thereof having a groove in its upper edge and a longitudinally extending opening forming a magazine, said extension also having a slot communicating with said opening, a springpressed plunger in said opening, an arm on said plunger extending through said slot, a
barrel in the groove in the extension, a vertically movable plunger for lifting the balls from the magazine into saidbarrel, a spring controlled plunger in'said barrel, the lower end of said barrel having a slot therein, an arm connected on the plunger and projecting through said slot, a pair of rollers journaled to the base, an endless belt carried by said rollers, projections on said belt adapted to engage with said arm for retracting the plunger, a crank handle for rotating the belt and means for operating the vertically movable plunger by said handle.
