Description

GEORGE FECHTER, 0F BUTLER, PENNSYLVANIA.
PLASTIC MANIFOLDING COMPOSITION.
No Drawing.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, GEORGE FECHTER, a citizen of the United States, residing at Butler, in the county of Butler and State of Pennsylvania, have invented a Plastic Manifolding Composition, of which the following is a specification.
In carrying out my invention the plastic composition is made up of the following ingredients:
Kaolin.
Alabastine gypsum.
l/Vhite dextrin.
Glycerin.
I have found that an effective composition is produced by using these ingredients in about the following proportions:
Kaolin, two (2) kilograms.
Alabastine gypsum, forty decagrams White dextrin, seventeen (17) decarams. g Glycerin, decagrams.
Of course the proportions may be' varied within the scope of my invention.
The composition set forth in the above formula is used especially for the purpose of making manifold copies of matter printed or written in suitable copying ink, forming a firm compound or medium to which the printed or written matter is transferred.
The compound is used in the same manner as other compounds or material for the one (1) kilogram, twenty (20) Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented May 20; 1919.
Application filed January 18, 1919. Serial No. 271,890.
same purpose; that is to say, after the ingredients have been incorporated and thoroughly mixed the composition is placed in a pan to become firm and form the pad from which the copies may be taken.
In duplicating or making copies of an original the matter is placed face down on the pad and smoothed out or rolled until the printed or written matter has been transferred to said pad, after which the original is removed and copies made in the usual manner.
g I have found by practical tests that the composition hereinbefore described will produce a greater number of copies than other compositions for the same purpose of which I have knowledge, holding its copying strength as long as any of the composition remains in the pan or pad.
After the required number of copies have been made the copy transferred to the compound or pad may be removed by using a damp or moistened sponge.
What I claim is:
1. A plastic composition consisting of kaolin, alabastine gypsum, white dextrin,
and glycerin, in or about the proportions herein specified.
2. A plastic composition consisting of two kilograms kaolin; forty decagrams alabastine gypsum; seventeen decagrams white dextrin, and one kilogram twenty decagrams glycerin.
GEORGE FEGHTER.
