To all whom 'it may concern v Be it known that l, JOHN F. OCONNQR, a citizen of the United States, residing at Chicago, in the county of Cook and State of Illinois, have invented a certain new and useful Improvement in Draft-Gears for Passenger Equipment, of which the following is a full, clear, concise, and eXact description, reference being had tothe accompanying drawings, forming a: part of this specification.
This invention relates to improvements in draft gears for passenger equipment.
@ne object of the invention is to provide a .draft gear more particularly adapted for passenger cars wherein the arrangement is such that a high capacity frictional resistance is obtained in buff and a spring resistance only in draft.
Another, and more specific object of the invention is to provide a draft gear wherein is obtaineda greater movement in butling than in draft.
ln the drawing forming a part of this specification, Figure 1 is a longitudinal vertical sectional View of a draft rigging showing my improvements in connection therewith. Fig. 2 is a horizontal sectional view taken on the line 2-2 of Fig. 1 and illustrating the position assumed under full bud. 3 and 4lare vertical transverse sectional views taken on the lines 3-3 and 4-1 of Fig. 1, respectively.
