To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, VVAL'rnR J. YOUNG, a citizen of the United States, and resident of St. Louis, Missouri, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in an Individual-Record Ejector for Graphophone- Cabinets. of which the following is a specification.

This invention relates to improvements in an individual record ejector for graphophone cabinets, and has for its object a mechanism. located conveniently beneath each record compartment for advancing the record and permitting; it to project a short distance in front of the compartment so that the same can be readily and easily gripped for placing it in position on the graphophone.

The invention consists of a lever mecha nism operated by a push key which presses the record forward out of its original nestinp; place and for makingit to project beyond the front surface of its compartment.

Figure 1, is a perspective view of a graphophone cabinet showing the record compartment with one of the records ejected.

Fig. 2, is a cross sectional view showing the location of the mechanism in its relative position with the record.

Fig. 3, is a detail perspective view of the ejecting mechanism detached from the cabinet.

Referring to the drawings in detail 4 indicates an ordinary graphophone cabinet, 5 the disk record compartment. partment is provided with a plurality of division partitions 6 between which is placed on edge a disk record.

(in the bottom and in front of the plurality of partitions is placed a cross strip 7 which is provided with a row of holes 8 and through these holes project the operating rods 9, the forward end of each rod pro vided with a push button or head 10.

The opposite end 11 of the rod 9 is pivotally attached to an ejector 12 consisting of an arm hingedly or pivotally mounted on a supporting rod 13 which runs through the entire series of partitions and the full length of a cabinet. These ejectors are made of the same width as the space between the partitions 6 and act as a partial support for the edge of the disk record.

tween each one of the partitions I place a wedge block 17. this acts as a support for the disk record when the same has been ejected by the means of the operating mechanism, and when so ejected it will suit the position as shown by the dotted lines A.

In operating the ejector the operator merely pushes against the button 10 which will operate the ejector in the position as shown by dotted lines B pushing the record forward until it passes its own center and when riding over the hurdle pivot 16, it will then by its own gravity assume the position as shown by dotted lines A.

After the disk has been removed and played it can then be re-inserted in its own compartment and by pushing it inward its own gravity will have a tendency to throw back the ejector and place the operating mechanism in its normal position.

The essential feature of my invention is to equip a graphophone cabinet with a le ver mechanism for ejecting a record disk and place it in such projecting position so that the same can be easily gripped by the fingers and removed from its compartment.

Having fully described my invention what I claim is:

A device of the character described comprising in combination with a graphophone cabinet a compartment having a plurality of partitions a pivotally mounted arm located in the bottom of each space between the partitions, a hurdle pivot extended through the entire series of partitions, an operating rod located in each compartment and pivotally connected to the lower end of said pivoted arm, and a supporting wedge located in the forward end for supporting an ejected record.
