asubject o'f 'the King of Denmark, residing at Chicago, in the county of Cook and State oflllinois, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in an Earth-Pulver lzing Machine; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact descrlption of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to whichit a-ppertains to make and use the same,
This invention relates to an earth pulverizing machine, and the object is to provide in connection with a series, or a plurality of series, of rotatable disks,rotary devices associated with each series ofdisks and geared thereto, each of the devices "last named including an axial element and arms radiatingtherefrom.

Astill further objects to provide, in the aboveconstruction, aplurality'of bars, connected respectively to the sections of the device mounting the series of disks, and 'connected with links operated directly by a worm wheel, the latter being controlled by a worm shaft constituting a part of the con trolling mechanism operated by'the driver of the machine. In "order to make suitable provision for the mounting of the shafts, and for the control of the two main sections of the appavratus, I provide a frame for each section,

A guard plate, formed as shown, is provided for each section of the machine and is connected with each upper transverse element 36. Chains 40 and 41 are connected respectively with the guard memberS,- and are adapted to engage the books or pins 42 on element 10, this arrangement permitting of the raising of the rear portion of each frame, and therefore ofthe elevationvof the shaft 31 to a given extent with reference to shaft 25. Pivotally connected with each frame is a bar 44having an offset portion l5 and extending forwardly to a point where it has pivotal'connection with a link 46, extending in a vertical direction and movable angularly with reference to a transverse pin 48 passing through bracket members 49. 'A worm wheel 50 is mounted on this pin,iand the links or arms just referred to are rigid with reference to the worm wheel, so that the links are shifted upon the rotation of that wheel through any given angle.
- A worm 51 cooperates with the worm wheel and is mounted on a vertical shaft 52 carrying a wheel 53, within convenient reach of thedriver. A bracket 54 may be formed as shown and includes a centralportion apertured for'the accommodation of the verti cal shaft mounting the worm. The respective sections ofthe "machine are vmovable about the pivotal point upon the rotation of the worm and. worm wheel, in view of the movement imparted to the bars connected :with the respective frames, and'the angular relation of the shafts carrying the. disks may therefore be varied, and the shafts 31 re maining parallel with similarly controlled;

from one shaft to the other of said shafts, a series of disks rotatable with one of the shafts, and a series of radial arms carried by the other shaft, the disks being spaced apart, and the arms passing between the spaced disks during the rotation of the aforesaid shafts.
7 In a machine of the class described, a frame including a transverse element, end sections connected therewith and providing bearings, parallel shafts mounted in the bearings, a series of disks mounted on one of the shafts and non-rotatable thereon, tubular spacing elements surrounding the shafts last named between the disks, and a series of radial arms carried by the adjacent shafts, the arms being movable between the disks, and cooperating therewith, and means for imparting movement from one of said shafts to the other.
8. In a machine of the class described, a main frame, a pivoted frame coupled to the main frame and having independent adjustment about a vertical and a horizontal axis,
and independent means for efi'ectin either adjustment irrespective of the position of the frame.
9. In a machine of the class described, a
main frame, pivoted frames coupled to the main frameand having independent adjustment about vertical and horizontal axes, means for simultaneously adjusting the pivoted frames about their vertical axes, and means for independently adjusting the pivoted frames about their horizontal axes.

In a device of the class described, a main frame, pivoted frames connected therewith, earth working devices each including an axial element mounted in the pivoted frame, each of the frames last named being movable about'a vertical axis, bars connected HANS CHRISTENSEN.
