Be it known that I, SAMUEL S. MATrHns, a citizen of the United States, residing at hilansfield, in the county of Richland and State of Ohio, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Trolley-Tire Clamps, of which the following isa specifi-- cation. v

vvThe invention hasfor its object a con-- struction which will simultaneously grip a conductor and the supporting hanger and the grip upon each will increase proportionatelyand such gripping effect is brought about by a single operation and at the same time the device is rotatably adjustable with reference to the overhead supporting member. so that it may -be-brought into proper alinement with the trolley wire or other conductor. i i

5. A supporting device to engage and clamp a conductor comprising a supporting member, means to engage a hanger, clamping means rotatably mounted within the supporting member and held in clamping position thereby and arranged to clamp a conductor, and an operating` member mounted on the supporting member and movable longitudinally thereof to engage the clamping means and move them into clamping engagement with the conductor and means on the supporting member engaging means on the operating member to prevent the removal of the parts ot' t-he device and limit the longitudinal movement of the operating member in one direction only.
6. A suspending device to engage and clamp a wire comprising a supporting member provided with means for engaging a hanger or support and provided with internal means to engage a wire clamping means, wire clamping means provided with means for engaging and clamping a wire and also having means to interlock with the internal means on the supporting` member to prevent separation of the supporting` member and the clamping means but permitting relative rotation, and a member adapted to engage and move the clamping means into clamping engagement with the wire and moving relatively to the supporting member.
7. A suspension device tol engage and clamp a conductor comprising a suspension member, a pair ot jaws and a collar mem-- ber, the suspension member adapted to support and retain the jaws together and provided with an internal recess andy shoulder and the jaws provided with an external recess and flange adapted to engage the internal flange and recess respectively ot the sus-- pension member to permit ot free relative rotation, the collar adapted to move relatively to the jaws and suspension member Vwhereby the jaws are made to grip the wire,
the suspension member also having means for attachment to a hanger or support.
8. A suspension device to engage and clamp a conductor comprising a pair ot clamping jaws, Aa supporting member provided with an external recess and an opening to the recess to permit assembling the clamping jaws and the supporting member, means on the jaws to engage the recess anu interlock the parts together but to permit relative rotation, means on the support member to engage a hanger or support, a
collar arranged to rotate with the'support member and to'be interposed between the jaws and the hanger and movable longitudinally to the supporting member to move Athe jaws into engagement with the conductor when the collar enga-ges the hanger and is rotated.
9. A suspension device to engage and clamp a conductor con'xprising a support-l ing member provided with means to secure the device to a hanger, two jaws, the jaws and supporting member provided with coacting means whereby the jaws are fulcrumcd within the suspension member and mounted to rotate relatively to each other, means projecting from each jaw to be engaged to move the jawsinto clamping engagement with av conductor and means to' clamping engagement with the conductor.y 1l.
