Referring to the drawing, 1 is an open case having a slot a in one side and containing a sliding box 2. The latter is provided in one side with a pint engaging the said slot a in the case 1 and 1s fitted'with another pin 0 at one end. (FigspfZ and 5.) From the foregoing it will be noted that in this brush the bristle may be withdrawn into the case lorbe pushed out therefrom.

When the bristle 3 is drawn into the case it is covered by the cap 5, as shown in Flg. 2, thus the brush may *befpocketed or otherwisecarried without injuring the bristle and collecting dust thereon.

,; Forpushing out or exposing the bristle 3, the pin 0 is passed through one enlarged] end/of the slot e and engaged by'the re-' duced part thereof, thus connecting the cap pushed into the case 1, whereby the bristle 3 will be; exposed ready for use. And vice versa for withdrawing the bristle 3 into the case 1.
