It is a iiat piece of leather or any other suitable material hun g on the horns of cattle and lying over or in front of the eyes, and a strap running from the lower side of the blinder up over the head, and the other end of it attached to a girt passing ⁇ round the body, so that, when the head is dropped down for feeding, the lower side of the blinder is raised from the eyes, and the creature can see as Well as usual; but when the head is raised, as it must be for jumping, the blinder falls over the eyes, and the creature cannot see where it is jumping or anything else.

MATHIAS BACKMAYR, OF LYONS, VISCONSIN.
IMPROVEMENT lN BLINDERS FOR CATTLE.
Specification forming' part of Letters Patent No. 138,224, dated April 29, 1873; application tiled January G, 1873.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, MATHIAS BACKMAYR, of Lyons, in the county of ValWortll, in the State of Viseonsin, have invented certain Improvements in Blinders for Cattle and Horses, of which the following` is a specification:
Nature and Object of the Intention.
My invention relates to that class of inven tions which are calculated to prevent cattle and horses jumping over fences and from tearing the fences down. It is a iiat piece of leather or any other suitable material hun g on the horns of cattle and lying over or in front of the eyes, and a strap running from the lower side of the blinder up over the head, and the other end of it attached to a girt passing` round the body, so that, when the head is dropped down for feeding, the lower side of the blinder is raised from the eyes, and the creature can see as Well as usual; but when the head is raised, as it must be for jumping, the blinder falls over the eyes, and the creature cannot see where it is jumping or anything else. This blinder can be hung on forward of the eyes of a horse or any other creature in the same manner, only something Will have to be placed on the head to hang the blinder to.
