Be it known that I, 'LILIJAN B. GARBA- BRANT. a citizen of the United States, and a resident of the city of New York, borough of Brooklyn, in the county of Kings and State of New York have invented a new and Improved Curtain-Holder, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description.

The obj ect of the invention is to provide a new and improved curtain holder arranged to permit the user to readily and qnlckly fasten the holder in position on the window frame without the use of separate screws, nails or similar fastening devices.

Another object is to provide a curtain holder having its component parts including means for fastening the holder to a window frame attached one to the other to prevent loss or misplacement of any one of the parts.

Another object is to permit convenient removal of the curtain holder from the window frame without danger of marring the same.

With these and other objects in view, the invention consists of certain novel features of construction as hereinafter shown and described and then specifically pointed out in the claims.

A practical embodiment of the invention is represented in the accompanying drawings forming a part of this specification, in which similar characters of reference indicate corresponding parts in all the views.

Figure 1 is a face view of a window draped with curtains and provided with a pair of the improved curtain holders in curtain holding position;

The curtain holder in its. general construction comprises an encircling member 10, preferably made of flexible material such as rord, braid, chains or the like, and having its ends attached to sockets l1 and 12 of two members 13 and 14, of which the member 13 is the attaching member and the member 14 is the closing member. The members 13 and 14 are preferably made in the form of disks of metal, but other suitable material may be used. The attaching member 13 is adapted to be fastened to the side of the window frame or other support 29 and for this purpose use is made, of a pm 21 provided with a collar 22 and a screw 23 having its axis coinciding with that of the pin 21. The screw 23 passes through a central opening 24 formed in the attaching member 13 and the screws screw into a button 25 made of wood or other suitable material and preferably covered with silk, velvet or other suitable upholstery material. It is understood that on passing the screw 23 through the opening 24 and screwing it into the button 25 the collar 22 engages the face of the attaching member 13 thus fastening the attachingmember 18, the pin 21 and the button 25 together. It will be noticed that by the arrangement described the pin and button form a permanent part of the attaching member and in order to applythe curtain holder to a window it is only necessary to push the pin 21 into the side of the window frame. The closing member 14 is provided with a bayonet slot 30 adapted to hook onto the pin 21 adjacent the collar 22 after the encircling member 10 has been placed around the curtain 40, as indicated in Fig. 1;

It will be noticed that the several component parts of the curtain holder are permanently attached one to the other to prevent loss or misplacement of any one of the parts. It will also be noticed that the curtain holder can be readily applied to a window or other support without the use of separate screws, nails and corresponding tools for applying such fastening devices. The closing member 40 can be quickly unhooked from the pin 21. whenever it is desired to release the curtain from the holder, and the latter can be readily detached from the window frame whenever it is desired to do so by simply pulling out the pin 21.

The curtain holder shown and described and it is not liable to get easily out of order.

Although the holder has been shown and window frames the attaching means are then preferably in the form of a screw instead of a pin screwmg in a tapped hole in the frame.

Having thus described my invention, I-

claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent 1. A curtain holder, comprising a curtain encircling member, an attaching member fastened to one end of the said encircling member and having attaching means for engagement with a support, and a closing member held on the other end of the encircling member and detachably engaging the said attaching means.

2. A curtain holder, comprising a flexible curtain encircling member, an attaching member secured to one end of the said encircling member and provided with a pin adapted to be pressed into a support, and a closing member held on the other end of the said encircling member and adapted to be hooked onto the said pin.

3. A curtain holder comprising a flexible curtain encircling member, an attaching member secured to one end of the said encircling member, a pin having a screw and LILLIAN B. GARRABRANT.
