Be it known that I, GEORGE B. Friosr,.a citizen of the United States, and resident of Des Moines, in the county of Polk and State of Iowa, have invented a certain new and useful Stock-Feeding Device, of which the following is a specification.
The object of my invention is to provide a stock feeding device of simple, durable and inexpensive construction.
More particularly it is my object to provide a stock feeding device having adjustable means for regulating the iow of feed from the hopper into the feeding troughs.
A further object of my stock feeding device is to provide means for having only a .portion of the total amount of feed exposed at any one time. I
Still a further object is to provide a stock feeding device having a hopper `with an adjustable closure device for regulating the discharge of feed therefrom, and a removable trough for receiving feed from the hopper, the closure device having a movable member designed to project downwardly into said troughs and to be movable to a position for permitting said troughs to be removed.
lith these and other objects in view, my invention consists in the construction, arrangement and combination of the various parts of the device, whereby the objects contemplated are attained, as hereinafter more fully set forth, pointed out in my claims, and illustrated in the accompanying drawings, in which: l Y

In the accompanying drawings I have used the reference numerals 10 and 11 to indicate the end members of the stock .feeding device. To remove the trough the closure device is lowered for closing the opening for stopping the flow of grain. The outer edge of the ltrough 2() is kthen lifted upwardly Vuntil its lower end clears the angle bar 32'. The trough is then pulled out. rThe member 29 being pivotally mounted on the closure device 25 and extending into the trough V2O, swings outwardly enough to clogged'in the openimr; 30 and the feed in allow the trough 2O to be readily removed. The feed passing from the hopper into the troughs 20` will'fill the troughs substan tially as"v indicated by the dotted lines'e() in Fic. 2. In a stock feeding device, a frame, a hopper on said frame, having an outlet, a removable trough, having a portion projected beneath said outlet, and an adjustable closure device adapted in various positions to control the size of said outlet, andin one position to close said outlet, a downwardly hanging device pivotally supported on said closure device, and arranged to project into the trough, the parts being so arranged that the trough may be moved away from its position beneath the outlet and said -downwardly hanging device may be swung to position for permitting such movement.
