ERNST NAG-ELIE, BASEL, SWITZERLAND.
APPARATUS FOR THE TREATMENT OF TEXTILE GOODS IN HANK FORM BY MEANS Of GIRCULATING LIQUIDS.
Patented Feb. 1, 1921-.
Application filed April 26, 1920. Serial No. 376,786.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, ERNST Nicnmn, a.
skeins are suspended upon perforated tubes ,WlllCll are horizontally mounted in bearings at one end and are supplied with liquid under slight pressure, which liquid flows through the perforations in the tubes and runs downward along the skeins or banks.
The treatment of the textile goods by the liquid can be evenly distributed by causing the tubes to be periodically turned in order to change the point of suspension of the hanks on the tubes.
The accompanying drawing illustrates one form of apparatus for carrying out the invention.
In the said drawing:
Figure 1 is a sectional elevation ofthe apparatus and Fig. 2 is a part plan view thereof.
The centrifugal pump A draws liquid, for example, washing water, from the container B and forces it under slight pressure through a common horizontal tube a into the tubes C which are arranged at right angles to the latter and the upper part of each of which is furnished with fine perforations. The liquid'escapes through the perforations 1n the said'tubes G into the textile goods at the points of suspension of the latter on the tubes C and flows down the banks in evenly divided streams back into the container B.
To enable the textile goods to be evenly treated throughout with the liquid the tubes I U have keyed upon them toothed wheels I) of the same diameter and which mesh with one another, one of the said toothed wheels engaging with a toothed pinion 0 which is so connected with a driving device that it can be periodically rotated soas thereby to impart periodically to the tubes 0 one or more complete rotations and thereby-to change the points of suspension of the hanks or skeins on the tubes. i
Inthe form of a paratusillustrated the tubes C are rotatab y mounted in branches cl of the horizontal tube a; they may however be supported at their supporting end in' any other suitable bearings.
Applicant is aware of the fact that apparatuses are known for the treatment with circulating liquids of hanks or skeins suspendedon horizontal hank carriers, rotatably mounted at one end and provided with perforations. But in the previously known apparatuses of this kind, each hank carrier especially shaped as reel, hollow ribbed tubes or the like was, when rotatable, always combined with a further horizontal tube for the supply of the liquid to the bank carrier, while according to the present invention a single perforated horizontal tube serves simultaneously as hank carrier and as tube for the supply of the liquid.
What I claim is: Y
1. In an apparatus for the treatment of textile goods in hank or skein formby means of circulating liquid, comprising horizontal hank carriers, on which the hanks are to be suspended and which are rotatably mounted at one end and furnished with perforations, eachhank carrier formed singly by a rotatable tube only perforated at its upper part, connected to a device for supplying liquid under slight pressure and serving s1- multaneously as hank carrier and for the capes at the points of suspension of the banks on the tube flows down along the hanks or skeins.
2. In an apparatus for the treatment of textile goods in hank or skein form by means of circulating liquid, comprising horizontal hank carriers, on which the hanks are to be suspended and which are rotatably mounted at one end and furnished with perforations, each hank carrier formed singly by a rotatable tube on ly perforated at its upper part, connected to a device for supplying liquid under a slight pressure and serving simultaneously as hank carrier and for the supply of liquid, the said tube being combined with means to impart periodically to it at least one complete rotation and thereby to change the points of suspension of the hanks or Witnesses:
