To all whom t may concern:

Be it known that I, MARTINA Gr. Mo- LOUGHLIN, a citizen of the United States, residing at Philadelphia, county of Philadelphia, and State of Pennsylvania, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Pantalet-Petticoats, of which the following is a full, clear, and eXact description, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, which form a part of this specification.

The object of my invention is to provide a garment that will perform the function and serve the purpose of a pantalet, but which will present the appearance of a petticoat. Another object of the invention is to provide means whereby the garment is transformable into-an actual petticoat.

A preferred embodiment of the invention is shown in the accompanying drawings, wherein- Figure 1 is a front the form of a skir Fig. 2 is a partial front view of the same garment showing the pantalet form.

The skirt consists of an upper portion a, comprising the greater' part of the length of the skirt, and a lower portion divided into four sections, namely: two side sections Z) and c, a center front section d and a center back section e. view of a garment in tion a in the usual manner. the side sections b and c are made in the form of fiounces and they are so shown in the drawings. The center sections, d and e, front and back, are shown in the drawings as integral with the portion a of the skirt.

Opposite side edges of each side section or flounce, b or c, are shown as connected together by means of a pair of elastic connections f and g. These elastics are provided at opposite ends with snap fasteners that engage complementary fasteners on the flounce. rIhey are, therefore, readily removable.

When the elastics f and g are in place,

the side flounces b and c perform the function of pantalets, but the nature of the garment is Adisguised by reason of the presence of the center sections d and c, which serve to give the garment, when in use, the appearance of a petticoat. 4

By unfastening and removing the elastics f and g, the garment is transformed into an actual petticoat.

It willbe understood that the side sections are not limited, as shown, to plaited ounces, and that the centersections may be made of any desired shape.

Having now fully described myinvention, what I claim and desire to protect by Letters Patent is 1. A garment comprising a main upper'.

skirt section and lower sections depending from the upper skirt section and located respectively at oppositesides and at front and back, and means connecting opposite edges of each lower side section.

2. A garment functioning as a pantalet and presenting the appearance of a petticoat and convertible into a true petticoat, the same comprising a main upper skirt section and a plurality of lower sections, distinct one from another, depending from the upper skirt section, two of said lower sections being located at opposite sides of the skirt and two of them located at the front and back of the skirt, and an elastic connection removably connecting opposite edges of each lower side section, thus imparting. to said side sections a pantalet function, while `the front and back lower sections impart to the garment the appearance of a petticoat, said elastic connections being removable whereby the skirt is transformable into a petticoat.

A garment comprising a maink upper skirt section, a lower front section, a lower rear section, flounces distinct from and between the said lower front and rear sections and securedy to and depending from opposite sides ofthe upper skirt section, and a removable elastic connecting opposite edges of each side flounce. y
