@UTLET-BOZES.
To all whom it may concern Be it known that T, EDWARD Keven, a citizen of the United States of America, and resident of Fort Wayne, in the county of Allen and State of Indiana, have invented certain new and useful improvements in Supports for Outlet-Boxes, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to improvements n supports for outlet-boxes of that class ordinarily employed in electrical wiring installations.
porting bar that will admit of the use ofordinary stock retaining bolts, there being means provided for engagement in the slotheads of the screws to prevent their turning.
The object of the invention is accomplished by the construction illustrated in the accompanying drawings, in which Figure l is an elevation partially in section showing the invention in mounted position;
Fig. 2 is a top plan view of connection with an outlet-box; i
ig. 3 is a side elevation showing a modified form of the securing clamp with ,the bolts and their retaining device in connection therewith; and
Fig. 4 is a plan view of Fig. 3.
imilar characters of reference indicate corresponding parts throughout the several now to-the same It is the intention to the device in attachment of the outlet-box, a clip is provided. The clip is constructed from a metallic plate and is formed with a base D adapted to extend between the outlet-box A and the supporting-bar B, and also with a of the fixture-stud H may be secured thereby. The rear end of the clip is secured by another belt I which passes through its Specification of "Letters Patent.
The object of the improvement is to Fatented 28, 1?, 1917. Serial ire. zone-7e.
base and extends into the box so thet 1 other of the ears G of the stud may also The rear end J of the base D is turned over the head of the bolt T with its extreme end extending into the slotted head of the bolt so that the latter is thereby held permanently in connection with the base and also having turning movement. The outer end K of the tongue E is likewise bent over the head of the bolt F with itsextreme end extending into the slotted bolt-head so that it is also held in fixed position in the tongue and prevented'froin having turning movement. I
and 4 is shown a modified and retaining means for the instance M is the base and N the tongue. The retaining means for the bolts consists of a separate strip P through which each of the bolts Q-Qf extend." The opposite ends of the strip with th The outlet-box is then positioned in place bolt? d emp oye ,1t before th i quently secured thereby together with the outlet-box. The clamping action of the tongue when the nut on'the bolt F is tight ened rigidly holds the clip, box and stud xedly to the supporting bar. Before being tightly secured, the box together with.
the clip and stud may be adjustably shifted lenfihwise on the bar to the desired location.
What I claim is In a device for mounting outlet-boxes, a supporting bar; a clip having a base and tongue; and two bolts havingslotted heads one of which extends through the base end; In testimony whereof I aflizs my signature,
