Be it known that I, Jnssn LANGDON, a citizen of the United States, residing at VVaterville, in the county of Douglas and State of Washington, have'invented certain new and useful Improvements in Fuel- Vaporizing Systems for. InternaLCombus tion Engines, and I do hereby declare the following to be full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make a-nd use the same. My invention relates to a fuel vaporizing system for internal combustion engines, and has among its several objects the provision of a device associated with the water 0001- ing system of an engine so as to utilize the heat units of the cooling system to vaporize fuel oils other than those normally used through the carbureter and for commingling the additional vaporized fuel with the normal vaporized fuel' in the intake manifold of the engine Among other objects of. this invention is to combine with the additional vaporized fuel or fuels a certain proportion of steam or water or both from thewater cooling system of the'eng'ine to humidify the fuel and prevent the formation of carbon, and a further provision of means for automatically supplyingtheadditional fuel or fuels and water to the device and the water cooling system of the engine, and to also prevent pressure forming in the water cooling system. Supported upon;the innjcr sidejof the radiator 4; by the upper pipe 7 and the lower pipes is the 'container 9 having communicationwith the upper jinterior portion of the radiator a through the medium of the supporting and connecting pipes 7 and& The container 9 is preferably positioned upon theradiator 4 in such a manner that-the lower portion of thecontainer will lie below the normal water level in the radiator 4 as indicated bythe line 10 so that there will be water in the lower portion of the container 9and on a level with the water in the radiator 41: under normal condition which is made possible by the provision of the connecting pipe 8, and the connecting pipe 7, whichoconnects the upper interior portion of the radiator 4: with-the upper interior portion of the container 9, and main- ,tains an equal atmospheric or steam conditionin the upper interior portions of the radiator a and container 9. Within the radiator 4 and the container 9 and above the normal water level 10, I introduce and maintain therein a body or quantity of liquid fuel indicated by the. line 11 and which liquid fuel flows on top of the water 10 and having the same level in the radiator 4 and the container 9 which is also made possible by the connecting pipe 8. The valve 15 cooperates with a corresponding valve seat 18 preferably formed in the end of the supply pipe 19 which is threaded or otherwise secured in the boss 20 centrally disposed upon the top of the container 9, though the valve s at 18 may be otherwise constructed if desired. The supply pipe 19 is connected to any suitable tank or reservoir (not shown) which may contain any suitable form of liquid fuel such as gasolene, refined petroleum or crude petroleum and the like, and the supply pipe 19 may be connected by a branch pipe to any suitable form of water tank or reservoir -(not shown) and the pipe leading from the fuel reservoir and water tank supplied withany suitable form of valves so that either fuel or water or both may be fed through the pipe 19 to the container 9, the entrance of which being automatically controlled by the valve 15 actuated by thefloat 17 which is controlled by the level of the oil 11, or the level of the water 10 as the case may be, for maintaining the fluids within the radiator 4t and the container 9 at their normal height or level therein.
The lower end of the pipe 6 is bent to provide the elbow 21 to which is suitably secured any suitable form of check valve 22 and to the check valve 22 is connected the pipe 23 having its opposite end suitably secured in a wall of the intake manifold 2 of the engine, as at 24, though this end of the pipe 23 may be secured within a wall of the leg of the intake manifold 2 at any suitable point, whereby the gas which has been formed by the steam and heat in the upper portion of the radiator f and which has collerted in the dome 5 together with a suitable proportion of steam will be drawn from'the steam dome 5 to the intake manifold 2 by the suction of the engine and there united with the normal gas from the carbureter 3, the additional gas as well as the ordinary gas being carried to the cylinders of the engine in a humidified condition and more efficient for the operation of the engine.
vi here necessary a gasket is provided between the filler cap 25 and the filler plug or steam dome 5 so to make the radiator l and the water cooling system of the engine air tight and to prevent the ingress of air into the upper portion of the radiator which would destroy the vacuum created therein by the suction of the engine and thereby seriously affect the efficiency of the invention.
The operation of the invention will be briefly described as follows:

It will be seen that by the employment of my invention that a greater quantity-of oils of lesser volatility can be used in conjunction with a lesser quantity of oils of greater volatility with efficient results and at the same time the combined oils are supplied to the engine in the form of gas in such a condition that danger of'ca'rbonizati'on of. the working parts of the engine is eliminated.
Having described my invention, what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
1. The combination with an internal combustion engine and an air tight water'cooling system thereof having a water level, of means for withdrawing water and fuel vapor from said system above said water level i and delivering it to the intake of the engine,
and means for supplying liquid fuel to be vaporized to said system at said water level to be vaporized at the level of the water so to pass through said means with the water vapor to the engine intake.
2. The combination of an internal combustion engine and an air tight water cooling' system having a water. level, of means for withdrawing water and fuel vapor from said system above said water level and delivering it to the intake of the engine, a liquid fuel container at said water level communicating with the space above said level,
and means for delivering liquid fuel to be vaporized to said container, said container being arranged to be heated by the hot Water in said system at the Water level.
3. The combination with an internal combustion engine and an air tight water cooling system having a water level, of a liquid fuel container having its lower portion eommuni eating with said system near the water level and having its upper portion communicating with the space above said water level, means for withdrawing water and fuel vapor above said water level and delivering it to the intake of the engine, and means for supplying liquid fuel to be vaporized to said container.

The combination with an internal combustion engine and an air tight Water cooling system having a water level, of a liquid fuel container having pipes communicating with the lower and upper portions thereof and connected to said system with the lower pipe near the Water level and the upper pipe communicating with the space above the water level, means for withdrawing water and fuel vapor from the space above the water level and supplying it to the intake of the engine,
a pipe for delivering liquid fuel to bevaporized into said container, and means controlled by the level of liquid fuel in said container for opening and closin said liquid fuel pipe to maintain the liquid fuel level in said container.
