' or pans, for deposits of the materials used in making chocolate and candy, such as nut bars or other forms. 1 I 1 The improvements comprise an lncl-ined succession to a revoluhle feeding device 00,- operating with reciprocatory devices for receiving and delivering them to carrying mechanism which translates them over a table to receive the deposits of materials.
In the preferred construction, the invention comprises a vertically rec1procat1ng table, an intermittently moving conveyer trays so as to permit them to drop upon the table and by the descent of the table to close the supports so as to hold the succeeding trays until delivered by the sequential rise. of the table, a roller provided with apliable periphery revolved intermittently in sequential relation to thecoacting mechanism for the purpose of deliveringthe trays to the supports, a reciprocating device operated by the table to, compel the correct delivery of trays from the roller to the supports, and mechanism for effecting the 00- operation of the several parts so that they will perform their functions in the desired synchronous relation. j
The characteristicfeatures of the invention are embodied in the mechanism set out in the following description and the accompanying drawings in illustration thereof.
In the drawings, Figure 1 1S a broken top plan view of mechanism comprised in the invention; Fig. 2 is a broken part sectional side elevation of the samcshowin additional-details of the construction; fig. 3 is a broken vertical sectional view taken on the line 3"3" of Figs. 1 and 2; Fig. 4. is a broken side elevation of mechanism for effecting the coordinate operations of the table, conveyer and tray delivery mechanism; Fig. 5 is a sectional view on the lines 5"5 of Figs. 1 and 2, and Fig. 6 is a sectional view on the lines 6 -6 of Figs. 2 and 3.
The mechanism illustrated comprises the frame 1 of a depositing machine having a vertically movable table 2. The table is provided with and elevated by the struts 3 having the bifurcated guides 4, yoked on theshafts 5 journaled in the frame,'and rollers 6 bearing on cams 7 fixed on the shafts.
The shaft 16. is revolved by a sprocket, wheel 17 and revolves a spur gear'18, both under the guides 22 thereon, the trays 23 slide to the roller which controls their movement and feeds them forward one by one.
An angle bar 24 extends across the ma 7 chine, in front of the roller 21, and is provided with the end blocks 25 adapted to bear upon the sides of the frame 1. Guide pins 26, extending through the horizontal leg or flange of the bar 24 and through the blocks 25 engaged therewith, are set in the frame flanges 1 on which the blocks rest, and bolts 27, extending through such blocks and flanges, support the coiled springs 28 be-,
tween their lower ends and theiianges 1, whereby the bar and its'connections are permitted 1a restrained vertical movemcnt,,in
case of j amming in feeding thetrays.
- Angles 29 are fixed vertically, in laterally xadjustable relation to the vertical leg or' flange of the bar 24, by the bolts 30 passing through the slots 24 thereof, the legs ofthe angles extending transversely to the bar having revei'sely disposed angles 31 fixed thereto through the intermediate vertical legs of the angles 32 which are fixed by the splice plates 33 to the angles 12.
v by meansof the pintles' 37 journaled there-i V V in( The yokes 36 carry the angles 38 with ends"38 which provide hinged tray supports adapted to be held in line with the movements of v the angles'l2 and tobe swung backward for the purpose of dropping trays (delivered thercv to by the roller21') upon the table 2, the
movements of the supports being regulated by adjusting the screws 35 to regulate the pintles 37 to which the yokes are fixed.
' 7 Each yoke 36 is provided withan arm 36" which is 'journaled' on a stud 37 of a collar 37F; -Bolts 38 extend through the collars 37 and haveadju'stable nuts 39 and 40 thereon, onopposite sides of the collarsL The bolts 38 are provided with the bean ings' 41'adjustably fixed to the table by the slots 41 therein, through which pass the bolts 42, the bearings having thereon the guides 43 for the trays dropped upon the 7 table 2.
An arm 44, provided with a resilient fin ger 44, is connected with one of the yokes 36v and is oscillated thereby in front of the rollerf2l so astoimpinge upon trays pass ing thereunder.
- As the'table 2 rises, the nuts 400114116 bolts 38*, elevate the collars 37*, which act through their pintl'es 37 and the arms 36 to swing the yokes 36 rearwardly, thus separating the supports 38,. depressing-the arm o 44' and thereby depositing'thetray delivered by the roller 21 upon the table 2, there to ering articles to said conveyer. r
, journaled in the frame. A pinion 48, fixed von the shaft 47 drives the spur wheel 49 fixed on the shaft 5, by which the table 2 is reciprocated through the cam 7. A pitman rod 50 is connected at one end by a bolt 51 with the slot46 and at the other end by bolt 52with a lever 53 which rocks on a shaft 54 journaled in the frame, the lever carrying a pawl 55 which engages a ratchet wheel 56 fixedon the shaft. A sprocket wheel 57,,fixed on the shaft 54, acts through a 'sprocket chain 58 one-"sprocket wheel '59 fixed on a shaft 60 which is journaled in the frame The shaft 60 has a sprocket wheel 61 thereon which acts through a sprocket chain 62 one sprocket wheel 63 fixed on the shaft 10, which revolves the sprocket'wheels 9 and operates the carrying belts 8 inter mittently. Afurther sprocket wheel 64-on the shaft 60-is connected by the chain 65,
'with the sprocket-wheel 1? 011 the shaft 16, from which the roller'2l is operated inter; I
