One of the links (32) is pivotally connected by means of links 44 and 46 with an v L-shaped lever 48,-the lon er end of which is pivotally connected wit .the plate 10 as indicated at 50. The free end of this lever 48 is pivoted to the plate 10 and located between two pins 52 and 54 on said plate, so that as said plate is rotated on its pivot by the rotation of the crank 8, the lever 48 is swung around; on its pivot with said plate 10, thereby moving the short end of the lever 48 and its connections 46 and 44 to move the links 32 and 34 outward to efl'ect the movements hereinbefore described. The aforesaid pins 52 and 54 moving around with the plate 10 act as stops when the plate and pins reach the position shown in Fig. 3.
It will sometimes be desirable that the top 2 shall remain freevfrom the doors 3 and 4 and the drawer 30, so that it will ,be possible to close the top while a record is being played and yet permit the doors and drawer to remain open. It is for this purpose that the slot 16 is open at one end and is very wide at its free end, as clearly shown in Fig. 2. This makes it possible after the parts are moved to the position shown in full lines in Fig- 3, for the operator to free the roller 18 from its slot 16 by merely raising the top This will cause the roller 18 to move out of the free or open end of the slot .16, and then, if the operator desires to close the top with the doors open, he merely ermits'the top to close by gravity, allowmg, the link 20 to drop down into the cabinet but not in its slot 16. Of course when it is desired that the parts shall all assume their normal positions, the operator by grasp- "ing the link 20 ides the roller 18 in its slot 16, when all t e parts will again operate by the movement of the crank 8 and plate 10.
From the foregoing-and the accompanying drawings, it will 'be'seen that I have provided a very simple arrangement-wherey the top of a cabinet, its vertical doors,
' and its horizontally sliding record drawer may all be operated by the movement. of a single part, as for example the crank 8.
It will be obvious thatchanges and modifications may be made Without departing from the spirit of my invention, the scope of which is set forth by the appended claims.
I/VhatI claim as my invention is:
i. In a talking machine cabinet, the combinatmn of a hinged top, a hinged door, a
sliding drawer, a movable member, and connections between said movable member and said top, door and drawer constructed and arranged to move said top, door and drawer upon the movement-oi said movable member.
2. In a talking machine cabinet, the combination or a nmgeci top, a hingeddoor. a
sliding drawer, a crank, a plate movable therewith,- and connections between said plate and said hinged top, door and drawer constructed and arranged to move said top, door and drawer upon the movement of said crank and plate.
3. In a talking machine cabinet, the combination of a hinged top,'a--hinged door, a sliding drawer, a movable member having a slot therein with a bend, connections be tween said plate and said door and drawer, and a link connected to said top and having its ends cooperating with said slot and arranged to rest in the bend when the top is raised.
4. In a talking machine, the combination of hinged top, a movable member having a slot therein with one end open, a link hav ing one end connected to said top and the other end working in said slot, the link being capable of being disconnected from said plate through the open end of said slot.
5. In a talking machine cabinet, the combination of a hinged top, a hin ed door, a sliding drawer, a movable mem er having a slot therein with an open end, connections between said movable member and said door and drawer, and a link having one end connected to the top and the other end 006 ating with the slot in the movable mem 1', said link being capable of being disconnected from said movable member through the open end of said slot, whereby the-top may be opened and closed without moving said door and drawer 6. In a talking machine cabinet, the combinationof a hinged top, a hinged door, a sliding drawer, a crank, a plate movable therewith and havin a slot therein, connections between said p ate and said doorand said drawer, and a link having one end connected to the top and its other end cooperating withthe slotin said plate.
In a talking machine cabinet, the combination of a hinged top, a hinged door, a sliding drawer, a crank, a plate movable therewith, connections between said plate and the door and drawer, a link connecting said top with said plate, and a spring cooperating with said plate, to assist in counterbalancing the weight of the top on said antenna said top, pivoted linlrs having their tree ends connected with said hinged doors, the pivot of said last mentioned links entering a slot in said sliding drawer, and a connection between said plate and the linlrs operating 7 the doors, whereby upon the movement of the crank and its plate, the linli opens the top, and the connections described opens tll said doors and shoves the drawer through the door opening. 7
In testimony whereof I afix my signature in presence or two witnesses.
