Be it known that I, FRANK Lrnrorr, who is a citizen of the United States, residing at Detroit, county of IVayne, State of Michigan, have invented a certain new and useful Improvement in Flower-Pot Supports, and declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the same, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it pertains to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, which form a part of this specification.

lily invention relates to a flower pot support and consists in improvements hereinafter described.

a is the window sill; (Z2, a2 the uprights and z3 the lower cross piece of the window frame. is a shelf constructed to hold fiower pots as hereinafter described; b2 is the bottom board and b3 indicates a frame extending around the outer edge and ends of the bottom board t2, thus forming a raised edge. 7)", Z2 are similar grooves at equal short distances apart near the center line of the bottom Z', and formed longitudinally through the upper surface thereof, open at the ends as shown. o indicates a zinc lining fitting into each of the grooves b4, b5. o7 is a ridge like portion lying` between the grooves b4 and b5. Near each end of the shelf Z) there a bracket c having an upright portion secured to the edge of the cross-piece a3 and having a horizontal portion c2 extending under the shelf 7)'.

Upon the ridge-like portion o7 are fixed at convenient distances fastening devices [Z which are preferably made of brass or galvanized cast iron and are formed to secure the pot in place as follows:

(Z2 is a lug rising upward from one end of the casting al and bein undercut on its inner side as indicated at 3, Fig. 2. There is a lug d4 rising upward from the other end of the casting d. Z5 is a set screw having a milled edge Z5a at its outer end and having its screwthreads engaging through an aperture in the lug cZf.

The lug Z2 is adapted to pass through the central opening e2 in the bottom of a flower pot e, as indicated in Figs. 3 and 4 and the flower pot is then pushed sidewise to engage the edge of the aperture c2 in the cut-away portion Z3 of the lug (Z2, as shown in Fig. 4. The screw Z5 is then set as indicated in the last-named figure, so that the flower pot is rigidly secured in plaire.

Any water that may flow from a pot e falls into a trough o6 in the grooves of, b5 and is conveyed away and discharged at the ends of said trough and grooves.

By the above-described apparatus a filled flower pot of any conventional size be adjusted and secured in place.

What I desire to claim is:

l. The combination of a lug adapted to pass through the aperture at the bottom of a flower pot and having an undercut portion adapted to receive the edge of the flower pot around said aperture, of an adjustable securing means adapted to engage the out side of the pot and hold it in engagement in the undercut portion of said lug.

2. In an apparatus of the kind described, a shelf, two parallel grooves at the upper surface of said shelf spaced from each other and a securing means for a dower pot adapted to engage in the opening at the bottom of the same, located upon the portion of said shelf between said grooves.

3. In an apparatus'of the kind described, a shelf, two parallel grooves in said shelf spaced from each other and a securing means for flower pot adapted to engage in the opening` at the bottom of the same, located upon the portion of said shelf between said grooves, said grooves opening at the edge of said shelf.

4. In an apparatus of the kind descrilzied. a shelf, a groove in the upper surface of said shelf opening at the edge thereof, a securing means for a flower pot located upon said shelf adjacent to said groove and adapted to engage in the opening in the bottom of said fiower pot, substantially as and for the purpose described.
