Be it known that I, JOHN N. HrrsCHEN, a citizen of the United States, residing at Bellevue, in the countyof Jackson and State of Iowa, have invented certain new and useful Improvements vin Bins, of which the following is a specification.

The invention relates to improvements in a bin, capable of use in various fields, such fyforinstance as in stores, or for use with ordinary household cabinets.

It is the object ofthe invention to pro- Y, vide a bin that is mountedv within a` casingY likeimplement within the bin and allow the removal of its contents.

My invention also comprehends the provision of a locking means of simple construction disposed within the casing and adapted to engage a portion of the bin when the same is in a closed position to prevent the accidental tilting or moving of the bin, it being obvious that when the bin is left in an open position, which position it often accidentally occupies, thecontents will rapidlyy causing considerable unneces-v deteriorate, sary loss.

The preferred structure of the bin comprises a suitable casing having a ymovable carriage disposed therein and carrying suitable rollers engaging a track within the casing. The carriage is capable of a substantial back and forth movement and has pivoted thereto at its forward end the lower portion of the bin so as to permit this bin to have a Vtilting movement when the carriage has been movedv outwardly to occupy its eX- tended position. The bin, when in a horizontal position, is supported upon the surface` of the carriage and is in no way connected directly to the casing, riding upon the carriage at all times during its back and forth movement.

Other objects and advantages will be hereinafter set forth,.or more particularly pointed out in the accompanying specification.v Y

Referring now more particularly to the drawings, wherein' likev numerals indicate corresponding parts, the numeral 1A designates suitable spaced supporting standards at the front of the casing, having arranged therebetween at their lower ends a relatively narrow cross piece 2. `At their upper ends the standards are connected Vby a beam 3, and the space between the standards, cross piece and beam providing a door opening 4, permitting the movement of the bin 5 into and out of the casing. The cross piece 2 and the beam 3 are attached to the standards by bolts or any suitable fastening devices. Projecting rearwardly from the standards view taken at right and lying flush with the top kedge thereof, and extending to a point near their lower edges are the side pieces 6 vof solid formation, having horizontal grooves at their lower ends into which the side edges of the bottom '7 lit. v The edges of the bottom by fitting within the horizontal grooves in the side walls of the casing prevent movement of the bottom. Locking strips 9 are secured to the sidesof the casing and directly underlie the bottom 7, these strips being of angular formation and ing ample supporting` means forthe bottom.
