jeet thereof is to provide a booth of this class v composed of separate detachably connected parts and which may be quickly and easily set up for use when and where desired, and
also quickly and easily taken down and packed for shipment orother purposes when necessary; and with this and other ob- ]ects in view the invention consists in a device or devices, of the class specified, constructed as hereinafter described and claimed.
The invention is fully disclosed in the following specification, of which the accompanying drawing forms a part, in which the separate parts of my improvement are'designated by suitable reference characters in so each of the views, and in which z-- Figure 1 isa vertical section of a booth involving my invention and taken on the line 11 of Fig. 2; Fig. 2 a transverse section on the line 22 of Fig. 1; Fig, 3 a bottom plan view of the bottom of the booth which is made separately from the body portion of the booth and with which said body portionof the booth is connected; Fig.

The booth shown is rectangular section and the bottom a is rectangular in form and preferably square, and comprises a top portion (b having a-skirt portion a and the I skirt portion a? consists of separate front,
back and side portions a having rightangled flange members a on which the top portion a? rests and to which said top portion a issecuredby welding, brazing or in any other way and, in practice, a sheet a of linoleum or similar material is'placed on the top portion (1 thereof.
The skirtportion a or the front, back and sides thereof are preferably made of a continuous piece of sheet metal-bent into the required, form and in connection with which the flange members a are vformed, and the top a of the bottom a of the booth is also composed of sheet metal, and said. bottom of the booth is also bracedby transversely arranged brace members a which are secured to the skirt portion a at a by welding, brazing, riveting or otherwise, and one of the brace members 0& consists of a continuous piece, while the other consists of two pieces secured thereto at a.
The body I), in the form of construction shown, consists of-a back 6 a front I) and sides 6 and in the construction shown the back and sides consist of single pieces of sheet metal, but in Fig. 8 I have shown a method of making these parts either theside or back,lor all of them, of separate pieces which will be hereinafter described. t
In the construction shown, the front 5 of the body of the booth is double walled, or

and the front of the'booth may be closed by a curtain without departin from the spirit of my invention or sacri cing its advantages. The body of theboothfis also provided with a top 6 below whicluwhen the booth is used as a telephone booth, is. a shelf 72' preferably composed of a bottom sheet I) and a top plate I) of wood or other fibrous. material, or any suitable material maybe employed in this connection, and this con struction forms between the top 6 and the shelf 6 a chamber 6 which is normally closed, and in which is placedthe usual junction. box, circuit wires and other electric apparatus used in connection with the telephone, it being understood that the telephone itself is supported in the usual manner in the body of the booth below the shelf 6 The sides, back, and front or d0or-memher, when said front or door member is employed, are detachably connected, asshown in Fig. 7, in which I have indicated the back 11 and one side 6?, and secured to the side 6- is an angle piece a, and secured to the back 6 is a strip (:2 having a longitudinal ofiset portion W, said angle piece 0 and strip 0? being composed of sheet metal and being secured to the back and side by welding or in any other way, and the part c of the angle piece 0 is provided with longitudinal recesses 0 which open downwardly and outwardly through the edge thereof, and the strip a? which is secured to the back 6 is provided with pins (i which are adapted to enter said recesses as indicated in'Fig. 7, and in connecting the back and sides, said back is held in proper position and the sides 6 are manipulated or dropped into position in such manner that the pins 03 enter the recesses 0 and this securely draws and binds the sides and back together.
It will be observed that the parts a and (Z are on the inner sides of the sides I) and 1 back 6 as shown in Fig. 5, and as indicated in Fig. 7, and the offset part 68 which carries the pins 03 overlaps the part c of the angle piece 0 whenthe 'sides and back are connected, as herein described, and the outer surface or walls of the booth are smooth and.
even throughout.
There are angle strips e secured to the sides and back of the body of the booth and to the front when the front is employed, and
this connection is preferably made by welding, and when the various parts are connected, as herein described, the angle strips 6 forma continuous angle strip which extends around the bottom of the body on the inner side thereof and is secured to the bottom a by screws or other suitable devices e', as clearly shown in Fig. 6.
The sides, and back, and the front when said front is employed are also provided at the top thereof with-angle strips 7, and the top 7) of the body of the booth is secured to said angle strips at f by screws, bolts or other suitable devices.
The shelf 6' is also supported by angle strips gsecured to the sides of the body of the booth, or to the sides and back, and to the front also, if desired, when said front is employed, and said shelf is connected with said angle pieces by screws or' other suitable devices 9 From the foregoing description it will be seen that all the parts of the body of the booth, including the sides, back', and front,
when the front is employed, and the top I) and shelf 6 are all detachably connected and the body of thebooth is also detachably connected with the bottom a, and by means of this construction all the parts of the booth, as shown in Figs. 1 to 8 inclusive may be quickly and easily set up for use, whenever desired, and as quickly and easily taken down and packed for shipment or other purposes. a
In Fig. 8, I have shown one side 5 of the body of the booth composed of separate plate members 6 and connected by strips Z2 and 79 secured to the plate members Z7 It will be seen that the strip 6 is exactly the same as the, strip cZ shown in Fig. 7, while the strip 6 is different from the angle piece 0, or consists of a single sheet of metal and the part 6 is provided with the slot or slots 0 the same as in: Fig. 7, while the part 6 is provided with the pin or pins (2 In this way the sides, and the back, may be made up of separate parts and the booth of any desired size may be formed, and the sides and back will be connected in the same manner as shown in Fig. 7 and as hereinbefore described, and this form of construction may also be applied tothe front when said front is employed.
In Fig. 9 of the drawing, I have shown a modified construction in which the double walled front 6 is employed, and in said figure I have shown one of the sides 6'. In connecting the sides with the front, said front is provided with a channel strip or piece it which is secured therein and welded,
or otherwise connected with the opposite walls of said front, and the side 6 is provided with an angle piece or strip h the same as the strip or angle piece 0 shown in Fig. 7. In this form of construction, a pin or pins 2' are employed, the function of which is the same as the pin or pins 01 and said pin or pins 2' are carried by the front 72 and the channel strip or piece it and, in the form of construction shown, said pin or pins pass through these parts, but this is not absolutely necessary and the said pin or pins 2'- may be secured in the channel strip or piece it only, if desired.
The part h of the angle piece k is provided with the recesses c the same as the angle piece 0 shown in Fig. 7,,and in connecting the side 6* with the front 6 said side is manipulated and dropped into position in such manner that the pin or pins 6 enter the recesses 0 and securely draw and bind the side 6 and the front 6 together.
It will be understood that both sides 6 are connected with the front 6 in this manner, and if desired both sides and the back may be composed of double walls and all the what ll claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent, 1s:
1. lln a knock-down loooth, a plurality of side plates provided on their opposite edges and on the inner side thereof with angle plates provided with longitudinal recesses which open outwardly at their lower ends through one edge thereof, and front and back plates provided at their opposite side edges with strips having longitudinal ofiset portions for overlapping and concealing the recessed portion of said recessed members and provided with pine adapted to enter said recesses.
2. In a knock-down booth of the class described, a wall plate consisting of a plurality or sections, one of said sections being provided with a longitudinally' extending strip having longitudinally disposed recesses which open downwardly at their lower' ends through one edge of said strip, and the other of said sections being provided with a longitudinal strip having a longitudinal offset portion for overlapping and concealing the recessed portion or" said recessed strip and provided with pins adapted to enter said recesses.
