3' citizen of the United States, residing at Ochiltree, in the county of Ochiltree and State of Texas, have invented certain new ings.
This invention relates to attachments whereby the power of a wind-mill used for operating a pump may also be used for operoperating a washing machine.

arm pivotally connected to the base and adapted to be pivotally connected to the upper extremity of the pitman, and means normally holding the arm in an operative position but permitting the arm to rise upon a downward movement of thepiston where there is an obstruction to the full downward j movement of the pitman.
Other objects will appear in the course of the following description.
My invention is illustrated in the accompanying drawing, wherein Figure 1 is a front elevation of a windmill equipped with my attachment;
Fig. 2 is a top plan view of the attachment, the base being in section; and
Fig. 3 is a fragmentary sectional view showing the manner in which the base is secured to the pump rod.
Referring to these drawings, the piston rod or jet rod 10 of the wind-mill 11 may be used as a pump rod or for any other power transmitting purpose. The wind-mill 'is of any usual or ordinary construction and forms no part of my invention.

My device permits a washing machine or like machine to .beoperated by means of power taken from thepump'rod ofawindmill and permits of attachment to the pump rod of any wind-mill and permits the attachment to be adjusted upon this pump rod so as to secure a proper position with relation to the machine to be operated. Upon the downward stroke of the pump rod, the pitman 18 will move downward until it is obstructed from further movement and then the arm 14 will yield to permit of further movement of the piston rod 10 without any 'movement of the rod 18. Upon the upward movement of the piston rod 10 when the arm 14 again comes to a horizontal position, the chain 20 will be tightened and the pitman therefore raised.
While I have illustrated a form of my invention which I believe to be thoroughlyv eifective in actual practice, it is to be understood that many details might be changed without departing from the spirit of the invention.
