Specification of Letters Patent.
Application filed April 23, 1918. Serial No. 230,206.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, PHILLIP GOEHRING,
In the drawings Figure 1 is a side elevation of the toy. Fig. 2 is a front elevation of same. 7
Referring more particularly to the drawings which represent the figure of a soldier having a body 1 which is integral with a head 2 and upon either side of which are pivoted, arms 3 and upper leg members l. To the upper leg members i are pivoted lower leg members 5. The outer end or hand portion ofthe arms 3 is provided with a pair of holes 6 through which strings 7 are passed and which are united at their outer ends in the form of loops upon which are slidably mounted hand grips 8. In operation the grips are taken one in either hand and the soldier is swung in a circle about the strings 7 until the strings are Gopies of this patent may be obtained for wound after which a steady pull upon the strings will cause the soldier to swing about the strings in the opposite direction until the strings are unwound. By intermittent pulls the soldier will perform a large number. of acrobatic feats about the string as a bar of support.
While I have shown a particular form of embodiment of my invention, I am aware that many minor changes therein will readily suggest themselves to others skilled in the art without departing fromthe spirit and scope of the invention, and I therefore desire to avoid being limited to the exact form shown and described.
I-Iaving described my invention, what I claim as new and desire to protect by Letters Patent, is z- Patented Mar. 4, 1919.
In a toy the combination of a body member representing a soldier, upper leg members pivotally connected to the said body member, lower leg members pivoted to the lower end of the said upper leg members,
arms pivotally connected to the said body I member, an endless cord passing through holes in the outer ends of the said arms, and hand grips secured to the extremities of the said cord, whereby the cord may be held taut while the figure of the soldier is swung about it as a center.
In testimony whereof I affix my signature.
PHILLIP GOEI-IRING.
