The lamp comprises a. tubular lood;1 E, a hood 9 at one end of the body and containing a light reflector 10. a lens 11. a lensretaining ring 12. and a cap l-i tor closingy the other end `otthe body. All of thesev parts. except the lens are formed of wheel'. metal. Hood 9 is 'formed of a single piece of metal, is cup-Shaped and comprises an annunl'rwall 15a and a wall 15 which foi-ins one end of the tubular body 8. An incandescent lanip socket 16 is secured in said Wall 15. An incandescent lamp 17 of 'usual construction is screw-threaded into the socketna-nd hasthe usual hase 18 forming' one of the lamp-contacts and tip-contact 19.
lThe body 8 is cylindrical and adapted and formed to contain a dry-hattery 20 which is provided with a pole-piece 21 at one end which is adapted'to contact with the tip contact 19 of the lamp. Cap 14 is cup-shaped and has a flange 14 which fits around one end portion of the body 8. The flange H is` formed with angular indentations, as at 22, to form grooves to receive and hold indentations 23 on the tubular body 8. In-` de'ntations 23 in the body and angular indented portions 22 exemplify a quick detachable connection between the cap and the body which is formed without additional pieces ofn'iaterial.
The invention exemplifies a portable tlash lamp which can be produced at an exceptionally low cost and is simple in construction.
The invention is not to be understood as restricted to thedetails set forth. since these the scope of thc appended claims. without departing from the spirit and `scope of the invention.
