Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 1%,782, dated July 9, 1872.
glued together and then bent to obtain greater strength and insure the stability of the bent form.
A A in the drawing are the legs of a table, B. Each of these legs is made of several layers, a a, of veneer glued together, and is bent to the requisite form and carved or ornamented in suitable manner. Thus made, the legs are very strong and durable, the glued veneers holding shape far better than single pieces. Another advantage of the invention is that narrow pieces of veneer, which would otherwise form refuse, can now be profitably utilized.
Having thus described my invention, I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent-- The bent legs for tables or stands, when made of layers of glued veneers, as set forth. Witnesses: GEO. H. BELL.
