Be it known that CLEM Y. SAWYER, a citizen of the United States and a resident 'oi Enterprise, county oi Codec, and State of Alabama, have invented a new and useful 'improvement in Cloth Shoes, of which the following is a specification.
The object of my invention is to provide a cloth shoe which will be cheap to manue cture and comfortable when Worn and not be injured by moisture. This, and other objects are vaccomplished by my invention, one embodiment oiw'hich is hereinafter set forth.
For a more particular description of my invention, reference is to be had to the accompanying drawings, in which:

Throughout the various views of the drawings, similar reference characters designate similar parts.
My improved shoe l is provided with a cloth solo 2 and uppers 3 composed of a vain tand counter 5, The sole 2 has a nuni er of layers of thick, stron cloth 6 held together by suitable stitches and its outer edge is bound by a tape 8 that is also secured over the lower edge of the vuppers by suitable stitches 9.

This counter 5 has two layers with extra thickening layers at the rear` secured by stitches l2. My improved shoe may be worn and used in the usual manner although itis particularly adapted for house use and :tarin wear where a comfortable shoe is desired for sore or tired feet, or it may be used `fior bathing purposes to protect the feet of the wearer from a rough bottom. ln any event will render good service where put to a suitable use.
-While l' have shown and described one embodiment of my invention, it is not to be understood as limited thereto, but is broad enough to cover all structure that come in the scope of the annexed claim.
What ll claim is:
ln a shoe, a cloth sole composed of a number of layers sewed together, a vamp 60 together, a counter composed of a plurality of thicknesses secured together by suitable stitches, a tape covering the outer edge of the sole and lower edges of the vamp and counter and stitches securing together this @o tape and connected parts.
