To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, CHRIS Z. ALEXANDER, residing at Redwood City, in the county of San Mateo and State of California, have invented anew and Improved Barbers Accessory, of which the following is a specification.

My invention, which is an attachment to barbers chairs, is more specifically designed to provide a holder containing the face washing fluid, plain or perfumed, and so mounted on the back of the chair that the barber can quickly and conveniently receive the desired amount of the fluid in his hand or towel for applying it to the face of the customer.

My present invention particularly relates to improvements on the form of barbers aocessory disclosed in my Patent No. 1,152,817 0, dated September 7, 1915.

In the construction shown in my patent referred to, the reservoir is located within the chair back and is hidden by the leather cover that is held over the back of the frame, and a special arrangement of closure device, mounted on the outside of the leather back, is provided for covering up the operating bulb and the ejecting nozzle when the device is not in use.

In the practical application of my patented device, I have found it more or less difficult to apply the device within the chair back under the leather back without, to some extent, marring the appearance of the chair back and further, to properly fit the same in place, required time, which has made the application of the patented device somewhat expensive.

My present invention primarily has for its object to provide an improved construction of a device, such as is shown-in my patent referred to, that can be readily removably mounted on the back of a barbers chair and with the ejecting and the discharging nozzle so arranged that the hand or the towel can be held up more closely to the discharging nozzle to receive the fluid spray than is possible in the use of my patented device.

In my said patented device, a hinged cover plate is provided for closing over the discharging nozzle and the bulb.

My present invention also has for its object to provide an improved means for positively closing the discharging nozzle and which must be adjusted to the open position before the ejecting bulb can be operatively manipulated.

lVith other objects in view that will hereinafter appear, my present invention is a barbers accessory embodying the peculiar construction and novel arrangement of the parts hereinafter described, specifically pointed out in the appended claim and illustrated in the accompanying drawing, in which:

Figure 1 is a perspective view of my invention, the same being shown as operatively mounted upon the back of a ba'rbers chair.

Fig. 2 is a vertical section of the same, the dlscharging nozzle controlling valve being at the opened position, taken on the line 2-2 on Fig. 1.

Fig. 3 is a vertical section, on an enlarged scale, of the discharging nozzle and the controlling valve, the latter being in the closed position.

Fig. 4 is a horizontal section showing a slightly modified form of the fluid holder, and

Fig. 5 is a detail section that illustrates the manner of securing the blow pipe and the ejector bulb to the bottom of the holder.

In my present construction, the fluid holder or container is preferably a rectangular shaped sheet metal box 1 whose upper and lower ends are of sufficient thickness to provide for the threaded taps presently referred to.

The holder 1 in practice is removably supported on the back of a barbers chair, as is shown in Fig. 1, between a pair of angle brackets 2-2 by the set screws 33.

Instead of making the box shaped as shown in Fig. l, the same may have its opposite edges beveled, as shown in Fig. 4.

From the foregoing taken in connection with the drawing, the complete alPaQgGlQQ Ht or" my present invention and the advantages thereof will be readilyapparent.

The construction of the parts that constitute my present arrangement of barbefls accessory provides :ior a simple and inexpensive n'ie'ans for holding the face fluid in convenient'reach o't' the barber and thereby avoids the necessity of stepping over to the table orshelf to get the fiugid holder.
