Description

F. F. BRADSHAW.
ROLL PAPER HOLDER AND PRINTER.
APPLICATION FILED JAN. 5.19]?- Patenteii Aug. 27, 1918;
WITNESS.
By adjusting the screws 18, the bars 11 may be swung so as to ad ust the print- 1 ing roller 14 toward and from the platen and which is adapted to receive the ink and to transfer the same to a printing pad 17, Fig. 3, mounted upon the periphery of the printing roller 14.
The printing roller 14: is provided respectively adjacent to its opposite ends with two rubber rings 18 which are adapted to iear against the strip of paper 19, which is drawn from the paper roll 2 and passes a under the platen' roller 10, thence between the platen roller and the printing roller 11 and thence over thetop of the paper roll 2 betweensaid roll and the paper cutter 1, as is shown in Figs. 1 and 3. I
If the strip of paper 19 is pulled from the roll 2,-in the usual manner, it will rotate the printing roller 14,-, thereby causing the printing pad 17 to make an impression upon the strip of paper 19. The paper may be detached in the usual manner, by being drawn against the paper cutter l. The paper cutter 4t effects a double function, that of a paper cutter, and also as a brake to hold the paper roll 2 from loosely revolving.
The inking rolled 15 is rotated by the printing roller 1 thereby presenting an inking surface each time for the printing pad 17. i
By adjusting the screws 13, the printing roller 11 may be made to have the desired pressure against the strip of paper 19.
For keeping dust from the inking roller '15 and printing roller 1+1, I provide: a rectangular cover 20, which at its upper end is ture shown and described, as modifications,
within the scope of the appended claims, may be, made without departing from the spirit of my invention.
1V hat I claim is:
1. A printing attachment for roll paper holders comprising a frame having means for attachment to a roll paper holder, a platen carried thereby, a printing roller adapted to cooperate with said platen, a support for said printing roller, a fulcrum on said frame upon which said support is adapted to swing, and two adjusting screws having screw-threaded engagement with said frame and engaging said support at opposite sides respectively of said fulcrum.
A printing attachment for roll paper holders comprising a frame having means for attachment to a roll paper holder, a platen roller carried thereby, a printing roller adapted to cooperate with said platen roller, a support for said printing roller, a
fulcrum on said frame supporting said support, and two screws having threaded engagement with said frame and engaging said support at opposite sides respectively of said fulcrum for holding the support in the position to which it may be adjusted,
A printing attachment for roll paper holders comprising a frame having means for attachment to a roll paper holder, a platen carried, thereby, a printing roller adapted to cooperate with said platen, an inking roller adapted to cooperate with said printing roller, a support for said rollers, a fulcrum supported by said frame and sup porting said support, and two adjustable clamping devices connecting the support and fume at opposite sides respectively of said fulcrum.
1. A printing attachment for roll paper 7 holders comprising a frame having means for attachment to a roll paper holder, a platen carried thereby, a printing roller adapted to cooperate with said platen, an inking rolle adapted to cooperate with said printing roller, a fulcrum on said frame supporting said support, .and two screws connecting said support and said frame at opposite sides respectively of said fulcrum.
In testimony whereof I have signed my name to this specification.
FRANK F. BRADSHAlV.
