APPARATUS FOR CLASSIFYlAlG ORES. APPLICATION FILED NOV. 8. 19l6.

I E? h.
WITNESSES INVENTOR 1, r W L 3w A Vi q ment the one with the other, but if desired, these mills may be arranged with the axes parallel, the one with the other, and provision made for the classifier to discharge into troughs connecting with the feed boxes of the respective mills, and so inclined that the material discharged thereto, will flow down to position to be lifted by the scoops.
As hereinbefore stated, the material to be crushed is fed into both mills simultaneously, and preferably in about equal quantities, and the material, after passing through the respective mills, goes to the classifiers where the fines are separated out and the oversizes go to the other mill, where they will mingle with the new material being fed to such mills. An exact equality of feed is not necessary in my improved method for the reasonth'at ifthe surplus of material is fed to one mill, it will be discharged therefrom and pass by the way of the classifier to the other mill, which is capable of operating on thesurplus material. It is characteristic of my improvement that the mills with their classifiers and connecting launders are arranged in parallel series and that after the material is fed to a mill it enters what might be termed a closed circuit and moves therethrough until it has reached the desired grade of fineness when the materials from both mills are brought together and conducted to a concentratmg plant.
I claim herein as my invention:
1. In an. ore crushing or comminuting plant, the combination of two crushing mills, means for feeding ore to said mills, and means including classifiers for conducting material fromthe discharge opening of each mill and discharging coarse material to the feed opening of the other mill.
2. In an ore crushing or ,comminuting plant, the combination of two, crushing mills arranged in or approximately in the same horizontal plane, classifiers arranged to receive material from the discharge openings of the respective mills and to raise the oversize material to such a height that it will flow to the feed boxes of the other mill.
In testimony whereof, I have hereunto set
