To aZZ whom it may concern:
lie it known that I, Ansrazva J- VA sweat, a citizen of the United States resi'e ing at Jamestown, in the county of Chautauqua and State of New York, have in vented certain new and useful Improvements in Milk-Bottle Cases, of Which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to an improved bottle case in which a milk bottle may be placed and the principal object of the invention is to provide a case which will be or the vacuum type and which will be so cmistructcd that a milk bottle may be placed in the case and milk kept cool, the case being so constructed that the bottle may be easilv'put in place and also easily removed when, the upper portion of the case is removed from the lower portion.
Another object of the invention is so construct this case, that the upper portion may be entirely removed from the lower portion, each having its own vacuum chambers, thus preventing the vacuum from being destroyed, when the upper portion or cover is removed.
Another objectof the invention is to so construct this case that it may be formed of sheet metal and to further so construct it that it will be greatly strengthened thus preventing damage to the case when in use.
This invention is illustrated in the accompanying drawings wherein there is disclosed a view showing the case in vertical section with a bottle in place.
The body portion of this case is provided. with an inner Wall 10 and an outer Wall 11, each of which is provided with a bottom disk indicated by the numerals l2 and 13 respectively. These disks are curved transversely clearly shown in the drawing and contact thus pro ide a var; strong bottom which will be braced and therefore cannot be easily bent or broken by a bottle dropping into the body portion of the case. The upper portion of the outer Wall 11 is bent in wardlv to provide an abutment seat 14 upon which a gasket may be placed if desired and is then carried upwardly and threaded to provide an externally threaded neck 15. This neck terminates in a flat face 16 forminc a part of the inner wall ,10.
The cap is provided with inner and outer walls 17 and 18 and is provided with heads 19 and :20 curved transversely and contactas clearly shown thus providing a strong head for the cap which will resist the force of a blow received in case anything should drop upon the cap. The cap is tapered and has the lower end portion of the inner wall bent outwardly to provide a seat 21 against which the end of the neck of the body its when the cap screwed upon the neck. The Wall is then threaded as shown at 22 so that the cap may be screwed upon the neck 15 and terminates in a fiat face 23 for littinoupon the scat 14v or gasket carried thereby. The gasket has not been shown as this gasket may be used or not as desired and may be placed either upon the seat 14 or upon the seal; 21. It will thus be seen that both the cap and the body portion are provided. with vacuum chambers and that when the bottle is placed in the body portion and the cap screwed tight the milk containcd in the bottle will not lose its coolness.
Yvhat is claimed is:-
l. ,l case comprising a pair of detachable sections open at one end, the said sections being adapted to be assembled with their open ends abutting, each section c0rn prising a pair of spaced inner and outer walls extending throughout the length of said sections and providing between them. a vacuum chamber, the inner walls of said sections being bowed outwardly at their closed ends, and the corresponding portions of the outer wall of said sections being bent inwardly and into engagement with the said inner walls '2. A case comprising a pair of detachable SOCl'iOHH each being open at one end and being of equal diameter attheir open ends each of" said sectionscomprising a pair of spaced Walls connected at the open ends of the sections and providing vacuum chamhers between them, each section at its open end having a relatively short annular u standing Wall, the said 'fipstandiiig We being spaced substantiallyequidistant from the inner and outer spaced'walls of said sec, tions and being formed integral with the said spaced Walls at their opposite ends, the connecting portions for the upstanding walls and the said spaced inner and outer walls being disposed at right angles to the latter and fon'ning abutment surfaces, 00- In testimony whereof I afiix mg; signature operating threads formed integral upon in presence of two Witnesses.
said vertical walls and being co-extensive therewith, and the abutment surfaces of said ADELINA VANSTROM' sections being adapted to engage snugly Witnesses:
